  1. I don't know about Hairston, but Rusch and Marquis both got paid more than "average player" salary. I know Marquis was...and I think Rusch got too much too if I remember right. Anyway, I think the average fan probably doesn't do the expectations vs performance comparison. They just remember key games. And those guys had more spectacular failures than they did successes. The Harden one is unfair, I agree. But he's not lived up to the "star" expectations he came in with so far.
  2. Fair enough. His failures are more memorable than his successes.
  3. I think you're way off. The fanbase, if anything, has changed for the better. They expect more from the Cubs, and aren't just happy to sit there, and enjoy the beer and sunshine, regardless of the on field income. If someone is booing Latroy Hawkins, that means they paid enough attention over the past few years to actually know that Latroy played for (and sucked) with the Cubs. What you're saying is that you liked the stupid fans that weren't even watching the game. Booing is part of the game. It has been for a long time. Don't suck, and you won't get booed. What did Rusch and Hairston do to deserve it? Hawkins, sure, but not those two. Just mediocre players being exactly what you would expect them to be, I don't see the cause for angst. I think some fans are doing it just to do it. My point wasn't to say that the fans booing them are intelligent. Just that they're more attentive than the fanbase was pre-2003. If you dislike booing, fine. But to say that the fanbase has changed for the worse? I think that's just not true. But personally, I think booing is just part of being a professional athlete.
  4. Used it once with zero issues.

  7. I guess I should've looked the guy up before I replied :P
  8. What the heck is a DC? Is that supposed to be DB? Defensive Center?
  9. I think it's just obvious that they are hilariously inept at actual baseball. It's this side crap that they get wrong that really is like the icing on the cake. And who doesn't like icing? :)
  10. Lyndon Johnson is one of the top 10 NBA players eh? :) I didn't see much of game 2, but I saw this morning Garnett's reactions at the end of that game...first time I've really disliked the guy. Sticking his chin out and cursing out the Bulls. Yeah, your 3 piece suit did a great job beating the Bulls from the bench. Well played. Sit the hell down.
  11. Is it possible this falls through and we have to start the bid process over again?
  12. The Bulls logo is actually a robot reading a bible on a bench. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/chi-talk-bulls-logoapr21,0,7546278.story
  13. That defense worked great....up till a couple years ago... :glare:
  14. Apparently they also sent Wilfredo Ledezma on the field last week with an upside down "N": http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3373/3439957601_040e356158_o.jpg
  15. Next thing you know, you'll be talking about which supermodel Tom Brady is knocking up.
  16. Yeah, I've got no issues with Noah right now.
  17. Football has 7. Sometimes 6.
  18. Only 80% of their coverage is devoted to that. They still have 20% of their time to fill.
  19. Nothing really new here, but Jason Stark going through saying whether early season trends are reality vs illusion: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=4082916 Then from Buster Olney's chat: http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=26078
  20. And on the flip side, Pierce needs to play the first half.

  22. I think we're going to learn a lot about Turner's offense this year. He could be given the benefit of the doubt in years past under Rex and Orton, because they just made so many mistakes (Orton less than Rex, but still wasn't ideal.) I think if this offense sputters now, Turner's going to be catching the flack. Along with Lovie.
  23. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4079417 But from what I read today it was really Lee's comment that TLR was referring to. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-17-cubs-milton-bradley-apr17,0,4364804.story
  24. Rose is deservedly getting all the publicity here, but Noah played quite well yesterday. That guy has turned out to be a much better NBA player than I anticipated.
