  1. 1 pitch 1 out.Can we end the inning in less than 8 pitches?
  2. 8 pitches 3 outs. I see we are a faster team this year
  3. I think Pierre didn't realize that was the 3rd out.
  4. And he did it for the low,low price of 14 million dollars!
  5. Overpaying for mediocrity since 2004. Like the signature says. Why must we spend 3 million a year for a manager to lead us to 70 wins?
  6. It seemed like when Dusty got here he changed the attitude. They went from being lovable losers to a team that hated to lose. They went out expecting to win. Dusty had success in Frisco and it carried over. Now it seems like Dusty has accepted losing.
  7. I highly doubt that. They may if they didn't think their man would be available till the winter for some reason. Then they could blame the Cubs current record on Dusty, the Cubs record at the end of the season on Larry, and get the man they REALLY want this winter.... But if their guy is available now, then Larry as interim would make little sense. I still doubt it. I could see Dick Pole as the interim manager---if he isn't fired with Baker...if/when that happens---but not Rothschild. Pole came here with Baker while Rothschild was here already.Speier or Rothschild would be the choices. Its possible Dusty would resign before getting fired.I don't see him getting fired though.
  8. If Ozzie wasn't a former White Sox,i'd take him as a manager. His honesty is refreshing. Its funny how his players are willing to play for him even though he don't make excuses for their poor performances.
  9. I agree except with the last part.He did overpay for Pierre and Jones. He should not have to overpay for a player in the offseason. Maybe at the deadline to put you over.
  10. Its great that hes finally starting to hit. But,there is more to the game than hitting.Yesterday he missed a cutoff man that lead to a run.A week or 2 ago he was doubled off of 2nd twice in 3 days.Hopefully his hitting continues and his baserunning and defense gets up to par.
  11. Feb 2 2005. He traded Sosa for nothing and signed Burnitz.
  12. Piazza catching and they steal 1 base. And that was Maddux.
  13. Hes hurt. Broken foot opening day.
  14. lol is anyone else concerned about his velocity, or is the Des Moines gun typically slow??? 89-93 is not "Wood-esque" The loss of velocity after surgery is what I was worried about the most. Less velocity = more control = less walks? No? no
  15. Yes, there could be a silver lining. ...yeah right! Dusty didn't give up the 3-run homer. We should be booing Dempster. 26 saves in a row until today.Booing him would be ridiculous.
  16. The bright side is Hairston,Neifi and Blanco won't bat this inning! :D
  17. Mabry was on deck when Blanco was up.
