  1. I've instantly decided that should I be fortunate enough to win, that I will continue posting pictures of second basemen from our pitcher's former teams as long as I start.
  2. Screw it, I'm leaving it up. Haha.
  3. Should have drafted Brady Quinn. Or maybe not. I'd be interested to see how Quinn would have done in a better organization than Cleveland. We'll see if McDaniels can turn him around. Denver started trading their good players almost as soon as Quinn got there too. :-) In all seriousness, I expect Orton to remain Denver's starter for the foreseeable future
  4. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/7e/JimNantz2001.jpg/125px-JimNantz2001.jpg Hello friends, this is Jim Nantz reporting live from Chicago, where the Cubs, quite possibly the greatest baseball team ever assembled by the hand of God, attempt to get another victory over a team whose roster is mainly composed of people that baseball fans nationwide have never heard of, the Houston Astros. The visiting Colt .45s will be led by this man, who once asked for a tractor as part of his contract, Roy Oswalt. http://www.panachemag.com/Web/BeSeen/AstrosWives/G8.jpg He is opposed by a man with a mean roundhouse kick. No, I don't mean Chuck Norris, but rather Tom "The Great Gorzo" Gorzelanny. http://www.post-gazette.com/images4/20070422wAPsanchez_230.jpg Today the Cubs' goal will be to not only notch a win, but a "win for the ages".
  5. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that that's the only time this year that our catcher will triple and our pitcher will double in back to back ABs.
  6. Thanks for picking me up, Fred. Couldn't get on my computer at class last night like usual and just completely brain-farted after that. Carlos Silva is well on his way to making me look like a moron for dissing him so much in the off-season.
  7. the offense pretty much sucked balls until they got to come home and face one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball. Fair enough, but did you really think Ramirez would go 1-for-every-road-trip and Soriano would be a black hole the entire season?
  8. If Lou and/or this bullpen can get their [expletive] together this might be a decent club. The offense just won't let a game go without a fight.
  9. [expletive] I was about ready to lose my [expletive].
  10. LOL welcome to the Cubs, Chad Tracy. Solid first knock.
  11. I think I want Grabow to go away even more than Samardzija. At least Lou isn't under the delusion that Samardzija is good.
  12. Don't worry guys, Grabow is warming.
  13. Jeff Samardzija. Send him to Iowa please.
  14. I'm sure Gameday is wrong because I trust Lee's judgment more than any ump's, but Gameday said strike three was in there.
  15. Sometimes I like Theriot, then he kills a rally with a one-pitch tapout and I remember why he annoys me so much.
  16. Gameday says we may have gotten a break on ball 4 to Soto. May have grazed the zone.
  17. Alright, Marshall. K this fat buffoon.
  18. Jeff Keppinger with 3 ribbies today, haha. I'd be so pissed if a similarly crappy Cardinal did that.
  19. Must have misheard. Would've been a bad sign, the last time he did that he was hurt, I think.
  20. Isn't it a third? ETA: My mistake, I had 9 in my head.
  21. BYRD ON A 3-0 COUNT! [expletive] YEAH
