  1. They won't do it and they probably shouldn't, but I'm to the point where I'm fine blowing it all up and starting another rebuild. If this horsefeathers is what we get when they're trying to contend, then just don't and give us something to hypothetically look forward to instead.
  2. Addison Russell needs to get the horsefeathers off this team. And frankly so does Joe Maddon. I'm so glad football is back so I can mostly ignore these idiots at least a couple days a week.
  3. Pitching Derek Holland in that spot is straight up fireable.
  4. Using an example of a guy that was treated like he was made of glass his entire time here and then got broken anyway isn't really a mark against his opinion. Uh he got hurt when Maddon went against the plan. They had no damn clue when he got hurt. Theo speculated.
  5. Whatever. Brewers weren’t touching him and these games are too important. Maybe that’s just an old school mindset. C’mon. What’s your thoughts on Brandon Morrow? Using an example of a guy that was treated like he was made of glass his entire time here and then got broken anyway isn't really a mark against his opinion.
  6. Well I was wrong. What are the odds this helmet stuff was pure BS? Like there’s a decent chance he never wanted to go to the Raiders but he knew Pittsburgh wouldn’t trade him somewhere he wanted to go (like NE). So he signs the big deal, makes a huge fuss out of the helmet and gets himself released so he can sign where he wants to. I'm curious if there was collusion, given both parties, it would not surprise me. This same horsefeathers happened a few years ago when New England needed a RB and suddenly LeGarrette Blount hated it in Pittsburgh and forced his way out. So why not do it again?
  7. Another bang up job by our crack medical staff
  8. Army lost that game when they passed inside the 10, up 14-7, and got it picked. Just keep running it. After what happened at OU last year they have to feel pretty snakebitten now.
  9. As if you couldn’t hate him more, he has destroyed any possible trade value he had. If some spirit were to tell me that his baseball talent has essentially been taken away as karmic punishment to the Cubs for keeping him around, I would completely believe it.
  10. Army +22.5 at Michigan That's one of those 'everyone has been talking about this potential upset so long that I'm almost certain it won't come close to happening' games, like when everyone's trendy March Madness upset pick goes down in flames.
  11. It's really pretty remarkable how many of the hits we give up are bouncers that our fielders are out of position to get
  12. Any chance of him bumping Lester from a hypothetical playoff rotation is completely out the window.
  13. Bold strategy to not swing at any strikes
  14. And Javy scratched too. It's a wonder whatever force keeps us from ever being happy fell asleep long enough for us to win the World Series.
  15. That's how I felt last year, but this is STL and they've had enough teams performing 10 miles above their heads for 10 lifetimes.
  16. First run on a Goldschmidt infield chopper because this team is apparently incapable of scoring in a way that isn't complete [expletive].
  17. I might be naive but I feel like he can get more than that. Maybe not a ton more, but more.
  18. This started with a stupid one-off joke that, had you spent any time at all on this board before going on your Nolan Gorman crusade, you would know was just a stupid one-off joke and not intended to be a dick-measuring contest about which city is more racist.
  19. 7 in the 9th and the Nats walk it off. It’s just not going to break our way this year. That's a ridiculous loss for the Mets but I find it hard to get too worked up about whether we have to face Scherzer in Chicago or Washington.
  20. You either weren't paying attention to July of 2018 or didn't pick up on what was happening. The Cubs intentionally lost for half a decade so they could shed bad contracts, pick in the top 3 in the draft and stock up on international signings and money. It got them a WS, so they did it right. Good for them. Saying the Cardinals 2 month reorganization last year is anything close to that is just stupid. They intentionally lost for 3 years, to be fair. 2010-11 was Hendry incompetence, unless your position is that trading Chris Archer for Matt Garza was a long-term move.
  21. STL scores 1 run and wins because they're not allowed to lose. Better keep pace.
  22. I know he almost certainly wouldn't sustain this over a full season and I know he's not a great defender but it's going to be a sad day if Nick signs somewhere else this off-season.
  23. His ex-wife’s Bennie and the Jets. They are still married and according to Zo himself they are kind of sort of trying to work things out Yeah, he said something about them being in 'a period of stability' since then. I didn't know that's what he meant, but obviously if he hasn't changed the song he's not done with her.
  24. We'll never have a healthy team again I guess.
