  1. Well, they didn't get killed, so that was nice. Schedule isn't good enough to make the playoff, but if ND can go 11-1, they'll get either the Orange against a crap ACC team or the Cotton against a Group of 5 team. Winning a major bowl for the first time since I was 7 would still make this a good year.
  2. Because he was utterly desperate. It was a stupid ass decision.
  3. It also removes the margin for error with a loss tonight. Georgia might wind up being the only team on the schedule ranked at the end of the year. I don't think Michigan makes the difference there even if they're good. No one's letting a weak schedule 11-1 ND in the playoff (given any decent alternative) after what happened last year.
  4. Morrow was pretty awful but at least he wasn't actually going out there and sucking I guess.
  5. This weekend is going to go down in Cubs history as the end of the window, in spirit if not in total.
  6. It appears that was probably the main reason. Screwing Russell over is a nice side effect, though. I'm sure Edith Cox is out somewhere bemoaning that that's thousands of dollars that could've gone to his children and saying the Cubs are in the wrong for this. Nico was in the organization on 8-31 and can replace any of our 60 day DL pitchers assuming they haven't added a position requirement. I have no clue how the rule works, but my assumption was that he had to be replacing a DL'd person when he was brought to the majors to be eligible.
  7. As enjoyable as it is when Michigan loses, the last time they got their ass beat the same day ND was playing a Southern power, it didn't end really well. (Last Dec. 29.)
  8. Maybe if their focus the last couple of days was a little more on getting a hit with RISP horsefeathering ever they wouldn't have to worry so much about who to focus on.
  9. Iirc, Correa was our target and they thought they had him and the Astros sniped him from us because they caught him at a workout day or game they weren’t even there to watch him or something right before the draft. I had been under the impression that the main reason they picked Correa was they could sign him for cheap and spend more money elsewhere and the fact that he was good was essentially a bonus.
  10. Football the next 2 days and I'll probably be freed from having any need to pay attention after that.
  11. I have literally never hated a supposedly good team more than this collection of fucks.
  12. who else would you expose, Kimbrel? Holland horsefeathering blows but it's definitely also a sad commentary on the horsefeathers show Theo gave us in the bullpen.
  13. Season on the line and Derek Holland's worthless ass is in.
  14. It's absolutely incredible how quickly this team extinguishes potential scoring threats
  15. It's kind of amazing how STL scores almost every time they get a chance and we get chance after chance and fail. There's no way it's not in these guys' heads.
  16. STL pitched around Castellanos to get to Bryant. Amazing.
  17. And of horsefeathering course it's Molina's worthless ass
  18. Bryant can't even go one pitch before extinguishing any hope of scoring there
  19. Yes. But did Fray have other songs that would be notable enough for this to be "a Fray song" and just that one song? I honestly don't remember, not just being snarky. The Fray had 2 hits, to answer this earlier question.
  20. There is absolutely no chance at all that Theo went out both barrels with that "offense broke" crap when he knew he wasn't gonna be able to afford to do anything. Something changed and we'll probably never find out why and when.
  21. To be fair, almost nobody in that lineup wouldn't be a [expletive] candidate to beat us except Goldschmidt and I guess Ozuna. I guess Fowler too, though that would've stung for other reasons
  22. Pretty much the difference between these teams is that STL can crap out ace starters and relievers whenever needed and we have to desperately sign anyone in sight and pray to God they don't horsefeathering suck. That’s worked out so well for the Cardinals the last 5+ years I meant this year
