  1. I like Novoa one day, often wonder why the next time he goes out.
  2. If I had 20 or so mph more on my throws, I could be a Major League pitcher! (I'm lefty)
  3. Whoever created the Marmol BandWGN - I'm aboard. This kid is money.
  4. Prior and Wood have both publicly expressed frustration with their constant need for rehab, and I have no doubts that your post is the complete opposite of the truth.
  5. I want the Cubs to win every game...but this year I can tolerate losses a little more because it's one step closer to the end of Dusty.
  6. I posted this yesterday, still believe it...
  7. Well, I'm inching closer anyway...
  8. Ah see, I expected him to moonlight as a clown at kids' birthday parties in addition to producing. I'm sorely disappointed!
  9. Was it Eyre or Howry that, when asked about his time on the South Side shortly after the Cubs signed him, said, "It sucked and that's all I'm going to say about that"?
  10. Murton's 2005 numbers in 140 AB: 321/386/521/908 7 HR Book or no book, numbers like that speak for themselves. I don't know what's wrong with Murt, but we as fans did not overrate him based on the above production.
  11. The Brock/Patterson comparison is not a wild one. Both were speedy guys who were simply awful as Cubs (in CPatt's case only in the latter days) and became great as soon as they left. But will CPatt become a HOFer? Probably not.
  12. There is no doubt that Z will flame out in the next 3-5 years if Dusty doesn't knock this crap off.
  13. I move Uber starts a thread to keep up the good mojo. I posted this yesterday, still believe it...
  14. Developing? He played with fire a lot last year too IIRC.
  15. While we're fixing things, I'm 2-3 :(
  16. Z, Len, Kent - I see your point. http://www.mitchamkorfball.co.uk/images/JP/WhiteGoodmanDodgeball.jpg Let me hit you with some knowledge! The Cubs will win this game, and they will win Sunday. Book it.
  17. I was never a Kaz Matsui fan. It's just sad that the Mets had to break up the most hideously overrated middle infield in the history of baseball (Matsui/Reyes).
  18. Last year the park effects were about equal. I don't know how they'll end up for 06. I believe New Busch is slightly more of a hitter's park than the last one, so Oakland might be slightly more favorable to pitchers this time around.
  19. From what Len said it looks like Marmol to the rotation, but I wont be surprised to see Rusch benched yet again so it's possible both to the rotation. Tonight Len said that Rusch is still scheduled to start on Wednesday against Houston, FWIW.
  20. What jumps out at me is the NINE FIFTY SEVEN on base percentage on a 3-0 count, unbelievable.
  21. If you ask me, Barry, Wie, and anyone on Boston or New York not named A-Rod are all more ESPN's golden children than Pujols.
  22. I've posted this sentence before, but: Only the Cubs would get 3 of the most talented pitchers of the generation and have 2 of their careers completely ruined by injuries. If any other team had had Wood, Prior and Z for the last four years, they'd all be Cy candidates. I'm absolutely certain of this. Even though Wood will probably make more starts this year, he's basically off the team as far as I'm concerned.
  23. Cuban as an owner > Ernie as an owner JMO.
  24. EXACTLY the game I was thinking of. It was on my sister's birthday too, so I was pumping my fist and having meltdowns while my family celebrated a birthday. Good times.
  25. As always, thanks Bruce. Good lord, look at that monstrosity. If 3-5 doesn't hit at least 3 homers between them, the Cubs lose.
