  1. Baptists do, however, condone making money, which installing a bar in the restaurant would help do.
  2. If Neifi was putting up Cedeno's numbers they'd represent a career year. Neifi put up the same line last year with much better defense, actually. In what fantasy world? He had a sub .300 OBP. Have you guys even seen how pathetic Perez's OBP has been the past couple of years? His career should have come to an end long time ago. 2002 .260 2003 .285 2004 .276 2004(Cubs) .400 anomaly. 2005 .298 Current .228 In 62 ABs, he put up a .948 OPS. In retrospect, that was the worst thing he could've possibly done, as it convinced the Cubs to keep him around ever since.
  3. Paging Neifi, Glendon, and Pierre...
  4. SI.com ranks Dusty as the tenth-best sports player ever to wear #12...let the ranting begin!
  5. I respectfully disagree. I don't see how playing the game does anything to make you more likely to be a better manager.
  6. good news. perhaps a healthy miller will allow the cubs to trade maddux for some future help. if hill can ever get his act together in the majors, i would mind seeing an 07 rotation of prior, z, miller, marshall & anyone other than hill (and rusch). Fixed
  7. He was wearing 25 with Texas, so he will definitely be switching.
  8. Because there's no such thing as an Arizona Cardinals fan. Deadspin
  9. Who has the time to come up with this stuff? I didnt find it to be funny at all, I found it to be a waste of my time. I find Dusty Baker to be a waste of the Cubs' time, but you obviously disagree. If only there was a Cubs discussion board where disagreements and civil arguments were encouraged?
  10. Only three people in the history of the world have been born without sin - the Virgin Mary, Jesus, and Albert Pujols.
  11. The most intelligent thing about Ozzie is that he throws the same lineup out consistently, doesn't overwork his pitchers, and generally doesn't try to make himself look like a genius by pulling the usual overmanaging crap (sac-bunts, hit and runs, three pitching changes in an inning).
  12. I'm not sure if Carlos saw it, but we didn't score till the 8th in that game. Not much chance of winning games like that.
  13. He's been better than this indicates, but his ERA is above 5 right now. I don't see anyone other than Hanley picking up any significant vote totals unless Marshall gets his ERA below 4.
  14. nevin at 1b, walker at 2b, womack in left is my guess. Nevin at 1st, Walker at 2nd, Murt in left. Maybe Womack at short...
  15. The Cubs would never let me, but I'd be twenty times the manager Dusty is and a majority of posters on this board would probably be better than I would.
  16. Which means it's about time for you guys to trade them all away so you won't have to pay them. You're not paying attention. Bay & Jack Wilson signed some expensive (for us) contract extensions this previous off season. No one is going anywhere just for the sake of dumping salary. There's a reason Pittsburgh is our AAAA team. That's 1.5 GB us for fifth.

    Koronka

In response to this, Jermaine Van Buren immediately picked up a win for the Red Sox tonight. The suffering continues.
  18. And signed to a 2yr/5M deal with a 1M signing bonus, along with incentives if he plays enough.
  19. NL MVP Pujols NL Cy Webb NL ROY Hanley AL MVP Patterson AL Cy Koronka AL ROY Koronka
  20. Ponson completes the arc of absurd Cardinal success by beating Marshall two months after the Cubs accidentally won in this pitching matchup.
  21. WTG screwing Zambrano again Cubs - just keep making sure that no stud pitcher ever hits the 75-win mark for his Cubs career and we'll be good.
  22. Good move. Nevin at 1st, Walker at 2nd till Lee gets back, then Nevin can be the corner IF/corner OF backup guy as well as some pop on the bench since the Mabry thing crapped out royally... Time to take the ? out of the title?
