    The Dusty interview is usually taped a couple of hours or so beforehand. Yeah, MLB Gameday also has the updated lineups.

    I would say the Cubs could've gotten him otherwise, but his OBP was far too high for that to happen.

    3 out of 4 ATH panelists today said that Dusty's not responsible for the Cubs' sucking. The only one who didn't was the Chicagoan, Mariotti. I think the national media at large is just completely not paying attention, and that's why Morgan defended him. (So have a few others on ESPN.) One glance at the lineups each day tells you all you need to know about Dusty.

    He's pressing to get to 714. And of course his body broke down due to steroids. That's why he can't run, field, or really do anything but swing the bat anymore.

    I don't think Hendry remembers that Fla/Hou changed managers before having success. I don't think he realizes he screwed up this team. I honestly think that everyone currently in this organization, with the possible exception of a few players, is just as mind-numbingly stupid as they have been acting.

    how many simulated hits did Bynum get? Bynum was removed in the 2nd simulated inning as part of a simulated double switch. Impossible!!!! Baker would never take Bynum OUT on a double switch.

    I'm an ND guy, but the Cubs are easily my favorite pro team.

    Hawk Harrelson said last week that Joe Crede is the MVP of the American League. I'm not making that up. And I think he was actually being completely serious. Right off the top of my head, Thome, Konerko and Contreras are better choices off that team.

    I guess his chances of collecting the sim league Cy Young award took a significant blow. Kerry Wood was giving him some stern competition to work against anyway.

    Why would he need to play 2b? We've already got 6 people on the team who can do that. He can play 1b and the corner outfields which would be useful. SSR was sarcastic I assume

    That is a great way to define the luck that is the Chicago White Sox. Buerlie has two first and second with no outs and gets out of both jams. Not to mention his error helped six of the seven runs go unearned, so even his stat line looks good. I think that if a pitcher commits an error, his runs should still be earned.

    I really don't get what you have agianst what he has done or is doing. Everytime he is quoted in the paper he makes it clear that losing makes him sick, that he and his mates are to blame, and that the fans have every right to be peeved. What is wrong with this? I agree. Barrett is a guy that knows what he's talking about, and this team would do well to listen to him and Walker more often.

    I wouldn't want Ozzie either, but anything is an improvement on Dusty at this point.

    Unreal..."shakin' up the lineup" keeps going to new lows... Yesterday's lineup was lower than this one. And why does Dusty feel the need to play Jerry all of a sudden? He doesn't play him for like a month and now he's getting all the starts? And WHERE THE HELL IS MURT?

    they didn't copy boston's jamesball. They copied the "Idiot" clubhouse mentality by getting rid of all the malcontents (including the broadcasters)

    4 months until ND and the Panthers start :-k World cup coming up. Not usually a soccer guy, but I will actually be following the Cup this year.

    I don't mean for this to sound the way it sounds but did Baker or Hendry actually say that they were trying to spark the Cubs by bringing up Theriot? It seems more likely that they just didn't like Restovich and wanted someone else that was already on the 40 man roster to replace him. :shock: So Baker's idea of making a change is the 25th man gets replaced. At least Theriot is benefitting from the move. I don't see how he's benefitting apart from more per diem money

    Are you kidding? They just do what we're doing for money. none of us are contractually obligated to watch every day, every game, every inning. I personally don't think I could do it. it just hurts too damn much. For their paychecks, I could live with it. I'd just have lots of little funny stories pre-prepared for each game.
