  1. Len and Bob on WGN, Hawk and DJ on Comcast Sportsnet. It's the reverse on Sunday. Just clearing that up
  2. Pierre was at his pathetic worst We can piss and moan all we want about Hendry picking him up, and it clearly wasn't a good move, but no one could've predicted he'd be this bad during a contract year.
  3. Useless stat of the day: CUBS are 1-0 when ndistops is working during the game ndistops will be working during Friday's and Saturday's games Go CUBS !!
  4. The Tigers are still hot. Plenty of room on the Justin Verlander for AL ROY bandwagon! That BandWGN crap has to stop. At least when I started it, it was the simple and classy "bandwagon". I think I'm going to narrow it down to around 5 teams and pick them from a hat. It'll have to be an AL team, though. I grew to hate all of the NL teams more when I was a Cubs fan. The White Sox are the new Cardinals. Just a suggestion.
  5. I still think Ozzie is a big-time ass, but I'm glad that SOMEONE outside of diehard Cubs fans is pointing out how bad our management is.
  6. Just once, I want to see a Cubs starting player that's not indispensable go on the DL rather than a star. Pierre, Mabry, even Cedeno would fall under that category.
  7. I'm losing the will to care about this team
  8. Sports Guy loves Hinrich (actually I think we are his 2nd favorite East team right now, he mentions at least two Bulls in 90 percent of his NBA columns), and I only think he's solid. I wonder if it's because I don't watch enough overall basketball, or if he doesn't watch enough Bulls backetball.
  9. Pre-trades, we could get Mark Bellhorn, Lenny Harris and Jose Hernandez back too.
  10. Let me guess...either brother-in-law or sister-in-law..? "I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate." What does that make us? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/images/covers/coverd/90_99/239693.JPG I see your Schwartz is as big as mine. Now, let's see how well you...handle it.
  11. That brings a tear to my eye. We haven't seen that since the sweep of the Cardinals when our hopes were yet to be dashed, and Derrek Lee sat gloriously atop first base. Actually I put that picture up for the Marlins game that we lost as well because there was a sweep possibility.
  12. Was that the game where he got shot too? With a cannon. twice Well he only took the second cannon shot to stop it from hitting the section full of nuns and make a wish kids. Swell guy. He did -- for a few minutes -- but then the swelling went away. Not that it bothered him... Just used it to get more weight on his swing and hit a home run all the way to his homeland of the Dominican.
  13. Burrell's first name is still Pat, right?
  14. If we're going to throw around complete hypotheticals, we could have Dontrelle Willis, Jamie Moyer and Jon Garland in our rotation and Nolasco, Pinto, and Mitre to add pitching depth.
  15. Len said the same about Prior tonight.
  16. Erik jinxed it.
  17. All the complaining about spelling is ridiculous. And before you say anything, yes, I purposely spelled that last word wrong.
  18. Time for a http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/vance_the_cubs_fan/cubsweep.jpg
  19. Bynum: 1 hit Nats: 1 hit Bynum: 1 RBI Nats: 0 RBI Bynum: 1 run Nats: 0 runs Just sayin.
  20. 4 1/3 IP 8 K 4 BB 3 ER Leaves game in the 5th with "arm problems", is DL'd for another month.
  21. He gets a pass because since he's been a Cub he's been really, really good. He's built up enough benefit of doubt. Jones had been bad for 3 years, and hasn't been good with us. So ARam carries no blame for the current funk because he's been good before? Gee, that make sense. Everyone on the team is responsible for this start. However, Aramis will very likely rebound. We have 3 years of track record to go on. Jones doesn't have anywhere near that ability or track record. Combine that with his contract, his idiotic baserunning and whining anout fans, and there you go. After last night he's got every reason to complain about the fans. He's treated them better than they deserve. And if you listened to the interview when he supposedly "whined" aboout the fans, you'd know he wasn't really whining. But hey, believe what you want. He unfavorably compared Cubs fans to Twins fans on the basis that they were more loyal. He might not have been specifically complaining, but he was making an unbelievably idiotic statement. I think that is adding a lot more fuel to the fire between Jones and the RF bleachers.
  22. Wholeheartedly agree. They're acting like hooligans out there right now.
  23. Dolan/Thomas beats out Baker/Hendry because the Knicks are the equivalent of the Yankees payroll-wise, and because Thomas is somehow a prime candidate for the coaching job.
  24. understand the game a little more? are you kidding me? in defending the guy who has been doubled off THREE times in the last two weeks (THREE!!!), you're telling the fans to understand the game a little more? maybe jones was passing by walker in the locker room and todd was talking to him. I don't blame Todd. What else are you supposed to say? You gotta back your teammate even if that means stepping on some fans' toes in the process. If he'd said "Oh, that was a horrendously dumb play and if I was in the bleachers I'd have been tossing crap at him too" that wouldn't exactly help matters.
  25. FIRE! and INTENSITY!
