    Its not hard to see WHY they're letting payroll move up, with the attendance jump, the increased ticket prices, the jump in their current TV deals.....They're at least giving Theo the ability to do the necessary things he wants to do. Tolerate seems like the best word use here, it'll get interesting once we DO have our new TV money, the renovations are done......To see how they stack up at that point.

    My guess is the Dodgers or Seattle. I saw somewhere he prefers the west coast anyway.

    I just don't know how to weigh the fact he's out of options. It's possible he's valueless just because of that. But I'd like to think there's some teams that could easily keep him up all year too. We're just not one of them. I'd like to think him and Underwood could net us a Smith type.

    2 HR and 6 RBI for Villanueva today. In 51 games, he's got 9 HR, 30 RBI, to go with 30 walks and only 21 K's. He's slashing a very nice .331/.436/525. He's out of options unfortunately, but MAYBE he's put himself into position to be a 2nd/3rd piece that nets us a McGee, without giving up Javy?

    All I take from that is another guy that really wanted to be here. He seems like a good dude too, its never lost on me how many easy to like guys we've got.(Heyward too) They easily cancel out Lackey. But man, it just seems like a great clubhouse mix on top of the unreal skill level. And yeah, lol at the Cards guy.

    Barring injury is why you keep Javy. Russell has had some injury issues and Zobrist is less than a year removed from surgery himself. The fact that Javy is damn solid defensively throughout the IF is important and he should be more than capable playing in the OF as well. Blackmon isn't even a good defensive CF. Giving Javy and Soler more development time is just fine, especially with what we've surrounded them with.

    If we're able to sustain this payroll(I think with the playoff revenue, attendance increase, extra TV deal money, and upped ticket prices)......I'm done. Don't mess with the depth. If we have even a bit more room, just add pen help. Use anyone outside of Torres or Contreras for the best we can get. Add as many Cubans as we possibly can(I'm confident we will) Sierra would be awesome and could take the place of the pen help even for now. Or added depth to the rotation, either way, he'd be my singular top target from here on out. And honestly, I hope Theo and Jed take a break. They [expletive] deserve it.

    Right now, our BENCH is Javy, Coghlan, and La Stella(and Ross).....Assuming we need one more guy, does it come from within(Szczur, Villanueva, Mendy) or do we go get a guy? And if we do, is it almost definitely an OF?

    When Theo took over, he had 3 stormtroopers, an ATST Driver, the captain that got choked out, a blind Rancor, and a fat Dewback. We're a fully functional Empire now though.

    I saw somewhere the Rays had interest in Vogelbach/Szczur/Villanueva. I don't know what else we'd have to add for McGee, but I'd love to still grab him somehow.
