  1. So I glanced at the WAR totals a bit that Kyle posted last night from Fangraphs and to my shear delightment, Dave Stewart has not disappointed. They are currently 17.3 behind the Dodgers and 8.9 behind the Cards for the last WC.
  2. A fairly short last name that shall likely save a nanosecond of someone's time when typing that he's been DFA'd.
  3. I mean, we are kind of punting our longer-term pitching problems down the road this year, but for 2016 I'm finally happy with our pitching depth. Maybe not. Plenty of Cubans to be had that could help turn our minor league pitching into a borderline strength.
  4. Yeah, it's no wonder we couldn't swing a deal for Miller if this offer was on the table from AZ. I saw somewhere Cleveland wanted Pollock for Salazar too. But at this point, I truly wonder if every team just takes their shot at Stewart hoping he's in moron mode.
  5. Not sure it was posted in all the craziness, but Theo said the cost of young pitching was too high. So maybe we do close that door. And after this [expletive] deal, who wants to try on some of the other guys anyway?
  6. I'll predict Fernandez goes no where......Seager, Urias, Pederson, and 2 more is what they want from the Dodgers.....
  7. He's getting older. And I think there may even be an article or two out there dispelling how great his D was that one year anyway.
  8. Gotta have a back up plan. But, if that's accurate, he has an offer. It's not just saying they're in touch. True. But we made an offer for Price too. One that we probably knew up front had no chance of him accepting.
  9. They tried their asses off for him. From appearances, we came in late and fucked them. I love it.
  10. They're out on Leaks now apparently, who I'd have much rather just given money to instead of even a normal trade for Miller. Wonder if we can send them Mendy for Archie Bradley?
  11. Are we now thinking Javy and Soler stick around? I'm fine with the pitching depth now.
  12. If there's a legit reason to bash Theo, its why hasn't he became best friends with Stewart.
  13. if you count minors in tenure (but only guys on the big league roster) is it javy? too lazy to check. Who signed first, him or Vogelbach? Surely we've got a Jonathan Mota still running around. How about Jeffry Antigua?
  14. I definitely feel sad about Starlin leaving. On the other hand, Warren is a very nice piece to add. Rotation depth accomplished. I'm fine not going after any trades involving Javy or Soler now.
  15. He is. When it's tanking season and not trying to win season.
  16. Who cares about 7 year averaged for 35 year olds. He was very good in his prime. He's not in his prime anymore. You don't think he's better than Castro for the next 2 years by a considerable margin?(1-2 WAR per year) wtf does that have to do with the statements you quoted? Just trying to see why you don't like the deal? Sorry I quoted the wrong thing. Meant to ask about not liking 4/56.....

  18. Thats actually less than I thought he'd get.
  19. This breaks 30 seconds after Sahadev posts a quote from Theo saying he's not super confident we get something done at the meetings. Theo loves [expletive] with everyone.
  20. What do you think he's worth? I know you're not exactly high on him. I'm not exactly low on him either I figured he was worth more to us next year than he could actually bring back in a trade, so I really have no idea. I thought you were pretty down on him. My bad. I was in August. I don't particularly like him, but he showed enough since that I don't just out and out want him off the team anymore. I just think Zobrist is a big enough upgrade in years 1-2 that I'm willing to accept a bit less than what we're probably thinking he's worth. As an example, I'd be very happy with Adam Warren as the return.
