  1. Out of the rumored pitching, I think I'd go 1)Carrasco 2) Snell/McGee 3) Salazar 4) Odorizzi/McGee 5) Ross 6) Moore/McGee 7) Miller 8) Gausman 9) Teheran 10) Cobb/McGee
  2. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--kris-bryant--maikel-franco-filed-grievances-over-manipulation-of-service-time-213422124-mlb.html As they should.....Doubt anything comes of it. But for fucks sake, when are we going to hear anything more on the Cards stealing [expletive]?
  3. Oh yeah, lets get into a dick measuring contest over which of us is going to be the biggest whining baby when we win it all.
  4. Jack Magruder ‏@JackMagruder 2h2 hours ago With Greinke in place, #Dbacks out on Maeda, source said. Many scouts/officials see him as fourth/fifth starter. Said to be seeking $60M.
  5. I don't think so. I don't think he had it until the middle of May or so.
  6. Yeah, that's the kind of mlb ready pitching depth I want. Thirded.
  7. I hope we're looking at Odorizzi and McGee too. I think we'd have to add in something else to it though. Maybe Coghlan?
  8. Jesse Rogers mentioned Gausman as a guy we're interested in.
  9. No idea on the NTC for Papelbon, but considering he's trying to recoup the 4 days of pay he missed out on by choking Harper, he's likely not going to be picky this time. My guess is no team would touch him now. Sofia just got 3/25 from KC.
  10. Looks like Iwakuma is getting 3/45.
  11. A deal for Archer would almost have to start with Javy and Soler. Maybe even Schwarber and one of them.
  12. Getting McGee and Smyly without giving up Javy or Soler would be just fine with me.
  13. Its probably happening, but everyone has come out and said Ralph jumped the gun.
  14. Where are we going to put the signings that aren't Cubs? O'Day got 4/31 and is staying in Baltimore.
  15. 7/217 is not so far off what Price was expected to get no matter where he signed. He wasn't going to get less than Kershaw did because of the differences between FA and signing an extension. I honestly thought he would get 220 or even 225 and maybe another year. If 180 was the next highest bid and that's what's been reported, they still paid up.
  16. So 11 days ago, Gammons said Lackey and Gordon were the two guys he heard the most buzz on with the Cubs. He brought up Gordon again today, saying he'd likely play RF if they signed him. If our off season winds up being Lackey, Gordon, Soler trade for a young pitcher, and Span......How happy are we? I think I'm 8/10, maybe even 9/10.....
  17. The Dodgers are making a push for Iwakuma.
  18. Arguello brought up Doolittle, by the way originally. From some guy(Rod Blunck) who works for Octagon Sports Agency and brought up Doolittle for Contreras on Instagram today evidently. I had forgotten/not realized that Doolittle's injuries were shoulder related. His FB was down a pretty decent bit this year.
  19. I doubt it would. That said, it could be 1) a cost controlled cheaper guy, 2) Searching because Rondon is involved in a trade we'd like to do, or 3) we're floating this out there to get a team we've got a proposal sent out to, to accept quickly or run the risk of losing a guy they may covet.
  20. There was a rumor Boston wanted multiple upper tier guys. Outside of them, I guess I could see Baltimore doing it and nothing else meaningful. That'd kind of be par for the course with them, I guess. Maybe the Angels? At any rate, any of them seem like longshots to me.
  21. Chapman, bitcheeeeeessss I am disappointed it took you even this long to jump in. It's him or McGee, me thinks It could be McGee. But like Doolittle, I'm not sure that'd fall under "top closer". Interesting development either way though.
  22. Chapman, bitcheeeeeessss I am disappointed it took you even this long to jump in.
  23. They supposedly want a young starter who's ML ready for him. Plus, I really don't see us using up millions of payroll space for a reliever. Theo has actually said as much. My guess is it'd be a cheap, controllable type.
