    Cardinals getting left out of the musical chairs. I'm wondering if they aren't going to freak a bit with all these other moves and go all in for Cueto. Not that that would necessarily be a terrible thing, just could see them wanting to make a splash if they miss out on Price/Heyward/etc. I think Chris Davis is their fallback from Heyward.

    You may be able to backload, defer, whatever on Zobrist. So we don't know that part of it. For that matter, we really don't know what the payroll limitations are either. I think he's a substantial upgrade from Starlin for the first 2 years anyway. The versatility is great, the contact is great.....I think he'd be a great addition. And I doubt this has anything at all to do with Heyward. I JUST WANT HEYWARD DAMNIT I truly think we're trying for both.

    You're definitely not getting Warren and Sanchez for Starlin. I'd be very happy with Warren alone.

    Nah Id be pretty happy to. I don't like Castro and I'd certainly prefer to have Zobrist on the roster than Castro. I just see Castro as a defensive liability and a bit of a mental flake. He's had a pretty inconsistent career. You're going to hate Zobrist's 2B defense if you think Castro is a liability there. I really need to learn defensive metrics. To me, it looks like he's either really good or really bad and that means he's basically average. Where am I wrong?

    We'll all be likely to enjoy the first year or two. The lineup going: Heyward Zobrist Rizzo Bryant Schwarber Soler Montero Russell would be awfully lethal in 2016 & 2017. I keep coming back to Theo saying he knows our best window may be those 2 years.....(Kyle, please don't jump on that, it's not like we're not contending after that)

    I refuse to believe we'd move on a guy like Zobrist and take ourselves out of play for Heyward, unless it's absolutely apparent he's not playing here. I don't think that's going to be the case. I think they want both.

I think it's just them trying to upgrade 2B. At a cost of $9M in payroll Not necessarily. It'd all be dependent on how Zobrist's contract is structured.

    Just to give more of it right back to a guy like a decade older? Yeah, but a guy who IS better than him and a guy that Maddon certainly loves. Again, I'm not a Starlin hater, I could just see them trying to get Zobrist.

    How much do you really like Castro davell? I actually like him. Did that come off as me thinking he sucks? If so, I'm not in that camp at all. But I do fall in line that he's not got a bunch of trade value either. If he was on the open market right now, I doubt he'd get much more than what's owed him currently(4/38). And I could see a scenario where they'd dump him(I mean, they'll get something useful back) in order to move quickly on Zobrist.

    Unless we've already been told by Heyward that we're not getting him- I seriously doubt we're trading for Gardner. Thuis smells like saving salary all day long.

    I doubt it'd be for Gardner. My guess is it'd be for prospects, or something else very cheap.
