Is it really that ballsy by BYU? Am I missing something? The MWC wasn't going to get a BCS auto-bid with Utah getting replaced by Boise St., and they were sharing their bowl revenue with the rest of the conference (when few teams make bowls). At the very least, they get to keep the money from the bowl they will inevitably make. Their TV network is a sunk cost, as they've already invested in it. A large amount of Mormon households nationwide will no subscribe to it, and any additional BYU network revenue generated as a result of this transition is icing on the cake. They can still work out deals with ESPN that will be lucrative. I think they're going to have to make their schedule more difficult than "4 WAC teams" to get legit BCS attention, but I don't think the move was a bad one.
