  1. ESPN reporting he blocked a trade to the Angels: http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=5417150
  2. They're only going to sign him if he's healthy and in shape. If he's both and has worked hard in the offseason to closer to where he once was, it wouldn't be the worst thing.
  3. That's not really the reason. That's like saying dollars are worth more than yen because dollars come in denominations of up to $100 and and Yen up to 10,000. The scale has nothing to do with it. Sir, I have a business proposition for you
  4. LOL. In fairness, he obviously had no clue who he was looking at. But it illustrates Beck's way of thinking pretty succinctly, doesn't it. Not a Beck fan by any means, but this is pretty hilarious.
  5. He's now .354/.393/.817 Since returning.
  6. Excluding tonight he's OPSing like 1.100 since he got back.
  7. You do if your top player is LeBron, Kobe, or Wade. Rose is not the type of player who will be the man on a championship winning team. He is a great player, but not good enough to do that. If he has that jump shot down like he says (I'm skeptical until I see it) he may be. Last season, Rose was the something like the best PG in the league at shooting inside the arc. http://www.hoopdata.com/player.aspx?name=Derrick%20Rose
  8. Ricketts family has a stake in CSN.
  9. Any Bulls season ticket holders here? I'm thinking of buying some but am hesitant because I'm not sure how easily I'd be able to sell tickets vs PHI, MEM, etc.
  10. I'm not a basketball expert, but wouldn't the Jordan Bulls be examples 1 through 6? So you think Dennis Rodman was a schlub on defense and the boards? Yeah, to a way lesser extent since Rasheed Wallace and Ben Wallace played on those teams. By "inside presence" I'm not just referring to offense, since rebounding has proven to be pretty important in winning basketball games. Seems like you're only referring to defense and rebounding if you're going to use ben wallace and rodman as examples...
  11. Also, to a lesser extent, the 00s Pistons.
  12. We've never had a situation like this, so who knows? But I'm hard pressed to remember a team that didn't win with an inside presence. The Lakers went from nothingness with Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom (way better than Chris Bosh) to a juggernaut with the addition of Pau Gasol. Dwight Howard may not have an inside game, but I'm not sure how needed it will be if he's facing up against Dexter Pittman. The 90s Bulls didn't have a strong inside presence.
  13. Not that it doesn't indicate Miami, but I'd think even if I signed a 120 million dollar deal with the Wolves, I'd want to celebrate on South Beach. Miami in the summer is terrible. I wouldn't go there for the weather...
  14. Maybe that means something, maybe it doesn't. I'd probably throw down in South Beach if I just signed a $100m+ deal too.
  15. I just refuted this on RealGM, but he definitely said "a few". I heard the audio snipped (it was posted in the current RealGM LeBron thread), and it does sound almost like he says "two". In fact it took me 3-4 listens before I was certain that he said "a few", but I'm quite certain now. Haha okay -- my conspiracy theory meter is at an all-time high. Good to hear it was just a misquote. EDIT: Just got a chance to hear the audio clip (thanks RealGM) -- I think you're right. Definitely sounds like "a few"
  16. ESPN article on Boozer teaching out to LBJ mysteriously updated. It used to have a Boozer quote saying LeBron responded to his text by saying he was weighing "two different teams." Now it says "a few different teams." Was he misquoted, or was ESPN trying to cover for its show http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=5363820
  17. The Broussard article is so dumb. I love this quote: "By scheduling his special show and essentially putting a deadline on himself to make an announcement, it would appear that James has made up his mind. If he does, however, change his decision, the Cavaliers, the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls would all be possibilities, according to the sources." So he's made up his mind and is going to Miami(we think), but if he decides to change his mind (which could happen) he might end up somewhere else.
  18. completely incorrect - James is better than Wade - Pippen wasn't ever considered best in the league - Pippen didn't win 2 MVP's on his own team before joining Jordan - James is really, really better than Wade Maybe it's semantics, but I took issue with this. Lebron is better, but not "really, really" better
  19. It's probably just his accountant's address. Don't know if it's that big a deal that it's in Chicago...
  20. Where did you find that info? I don't think it's a condo... this says it's a commercial building: http://www.emporis.com/application/?nav=building&lng=3&id=117530 It has suites. There was a listing for a place that was going for $250,000. "Suite" sounds more like an office than a condominium. And it doesn't look like a residential building.
  21. Where did you find that info? I don't think it's a condo... this says it's a commercial building: http://www.emporis.com/application/?nav=building&lng=3&id=117530
  22. Is Dirk 100% out of the question should we "strike out" with LBJ, Bosh, Wade? Is there a chance we could get him to leave Dallas?
