  1. I really like the idea of Cabrera. I think he still has #1 potential. A package for both would certainly sting, but could go a long way in fixing things here.
  2. Yeah, I knew he had fallen off offensively, but I didn't realize he was on the short list of worst hitter in the majors.
  3. I can see that. For me it's the elite exit velo. I don't have to squint to see a Pete Alonso or Kyle Schwarber type bat in time. Cam Smith has plenty of tools, though.
  4. I thought they might be working on something. Good to see.
  5. Agree to disagree. I think a high-ceiling guy like Caissie has more value to this organization than a guy like Cam Smith, who has a higher floor. And Cam Smith was the main piece returning an MVP candidate. Alcantara is controlled, but currently has nowhere near the value of Kyle Tucker. This is really just personal preference. Alcantara for Alcantara, that I can live with. Add Birdsell or another non-Wiggins arm of their choosing and a low-level lotto ticket.
  6. How intrigued should we be? He's made significant strides in BB%, K% and SLG, Not a huge pedigree but those are the adjustments an org hopes for...
  7. Had I finished my rankings, Caissie would have been my #1. His ceiling is still nuts, and I'm more confident than ever that his floor is at least a decent major-league career. Do not trade unless for a holy- horsefeathers, no doubt ace.
  8. Trying to be objective, I'm doubtful about him signing here. I think they are going to avoid any big contracts prior to '27. In lieu of that, they made the big trade in an attempt to keep favor. I could see them doing something similar this offseason.
  9. I could see that. Alas, he does seem to have the kind of stuff that could translate pretty seamlessly to the majors at this point, moreso than a guy like Horton last summer.
  10. Wiggins day! If he has another stellar outing I'd love to see him get the bump to Iowa (or Chicago).
  11. I understand bringing Cabrera in initially. However, after he had walked Contreras on 4 pitches, given up a double to Turang and fine 3-0 on Hoskins before Rhys got himself out , I think going to a rhp to face the righty would have been a pretty reasonable move.
  12. And yet Flexen was brought in a few pitches later. I don't consider him a leverage reliever, I was just advocating for a different arm.
  13. Rested pen, why was Cabrera still in there? He was missing badly.
  14. The bullpen has been better, but why are we using ERA to measure relievers? Often these guys are tasked with keeping inherited runners from scoring. A difficult task, but a critical one that ERA doesn't measure.
  15. Caissie is 3-3 with a double and officially on a heater.
  16. What does a package for Ragans look like?
  17. I am not as discouraged by Caissie and Alcantara as most, if only because progress is not linear and this organization in particular can afford to let them keep trying to make adjustments in AAA. PCA looked really rough at times, even early this year. Those two are one adjustment away from being impact guys. Ride it out.
  18. That Bleacher Report list for potential Jarren Duran trades was some high comedy.
  19. Shaw now with a higher OPS than Happ, Swanson or Hoerner.
  20. That played out like a playoff game between two excellent teams. Can't be too mad.
  21. It's funny, because at no point this season have I been as sure that this team is great.
