  1. Len and JD clearly liked each other and are about as good a combo as you could ever wish for. JD tolerates Boog. I often feel like I can hear him rolling his eyes.
  2. There was an old poster here who would post game threads without fail. He was of a different generation, and would use the word horsefeathers in lieu of cursing. After he passed away, we began using that word in his memory, so to speak.
  3. It seems like his plate discipline has turned the corner, which is the #1 sign of leveling up, I think.
  4. Witt also started the year slowly. It's been a pretty strange year, really. Lots of stars near or below replacement level.
  5. Between yesterday's game and tonight, the middle of the order was 1-30.
  6. To be fair, Mo has been hitting the hell out of the ball.
  7. Lol 1 PA for Pedro and he does what dansby and Nico couldn't against the worst starter in MLB.
  8. I was looking at NL WAR from Apr 28th on and while I wasn't surprised to see Pete at #1, I was pretty shocked that Busch was #3, with only James Wood between them.
  9. If he ends up a .900 OPS guy, he'll be a 1st ballot H.O.F 'er.
  10. I know that because he isn't an elite, up- the-middle defender, he won't ever get the uber-prospect hype that comes with being a projectable bat with a great glove, but I'd prefer a switch-hitting Albert Pujols, anyhow.
  11. A 1.333 OPS in high-A at age 19 is pretty wild. I think they have to promote him.
  12. Hartshorn is going to get promoted again, right? This is ridiculous.
  13. At one point this was the best offense in MLB. That's the wildest thing to me.
  14. Mo has struggled, but he's hit the ball pretty hard and is 22 with nothing to prove at Iowa.
  15. I think a lot of us had reservations about signing Bregman. I'm not a big fan of Matt Shaw, but I thought he could give us 80% of the production and the money could be spent on pitching. Bregman has had a nice career, but his best seasons were almost 10 years ago. It seemed like a risky signing at the time, but they were apparently in love with his makeup and leadership, which doesn't seem to be helping much. Hope it turns around.
  16. Hartshorn is going to catapult into the top 25. At least.
  17. This team is currently missing almost its entire projected rotation and is still above .500. I know how they got here is frustrating, but it's not the great failure some are positing.
