  1. Moises Ballesteros now has the highest wRC+ in the NL (>50 PA)
  2. Last place in the NL central would be in 1st place in the AL central. I wonder if this is the latest date into a season where you could say that about two divisions.
  3. At 22, Ballesteros is already such a good PA. He's going to be something else. If they can occasionally find spots for him to catch, perhaps he'll be ready to split time with Amaya in '27.
  4. At some point, Mo will have to get some PAs against lefties. He's just too good of a hitter. They always tried to protect Schwarber from lhp and now he's better against them than rhp.
  5. Boog does that often. I'm on the record as really not loving it.
  6. Caissie 3/4, 2 2B. OPS up over 1.000. Love to see him succeeding out of the gate. He was my guy, but so was Cabrera. Just wish the deal had been for Shaw....
  7. ONKC off to a strong start.
  8. I feel like the bench and bullpen are both in much better shape than they were at this time last season.
  9. Amaya is going to be a beast.
  10. I feel very confident that the Bears are going to be the team to beat in the North for some time.
  11. I must just possess an outlier opinion on this kid's hitting ability. He's obviously not Tony Gwynn. I dont think Pablo Sandoval is a crazy dream, however.
  12. I know it was only 66 PAs, but a 21 yr old Ballesteros had a 143 wRC+ in his first cup of coffee. I dont think a 115wRC+ is "best case scenario". As a platoon DH, I think he can post numbers fairly close to that. An OBP- heavy 130-140 wRC+.
  13. They have built a team without a real weakness. They're almost mirroring with the rotation their annual bullpen strategy of throwing enough arms in there that you are bound to find over- performance. The pen, ironically, is more locked in than usual. The lineup has no glaring holes and the defense is probably the best in baseball.
  14. It was right there. I know we have to be happy with this season, and I know it likely would have been over next week, anyhow, but it was right there.
  15. Get in the horsefeathers end zone.
  16. I believe he was correct. Loveland misread it.
  17. I feel like the bullpen is already in better shape as we don't have a 60-yr old vet guaranteed the closer's role. I'm sure there will need to be adjustments, but they should come quickly this time. The rotation is deep and has a higher ceiling. I personally think the offense will be slightly better, without the high highs and low lows of 2025.
  18. I was always a ceiling over floor kind of guy with these rankings but this just takes it way too far in my opinion. Moises Ballesteros is clearly going to hit in the majors. At 21, he looked right at home in the middle of a major league lineup. To reach that point at that age is uncommon, even for top prospects. Ethan Conrad will not be playing in the majors at age 21. The DH argument is just another way of saying his floor is 'quality major league hitter'. His ceiling is *that bat* at catcher.
  19. I think I've finally reached the point where these lists hold no weight at all for me anymore. Ethan Conrad had around 500 PAs in college and has yet to face professional pitching. Moises Ballesteros has 2000 professional PAs, has mashed at every level, including his brief stint in the majors, and is only 8 months older than Ethan Conrad. This without factoring in the possibility that he could still become a serviceable catcher.....
