  1. Yeah, the guy hit 25 HRs in the 1st half. I understand why he's reticent to bunt.
  2. I can understand that part. In the NL, only Schwarber has a higher SLG in the 2nd half. He's right there with Schwarbs and Ohtani in wRC+. I think he should get more PAs.
  3. How has Matt Shaw not been moved up in the lineup yet?
  4. We've all seen streaky offenses before, but this is something else. What was a historically good Cubs lineup for more than half a season has become completely impotent.
  5. Rockies pitcher was called up from AA before facing the Pirates . Interesting arm but he had some injury setbacks, so hadn't even made it to AAA at age 25. Very nice fastball.
  6. Schwarber was 27, had hit 38 HRs in his last full season, and the DH was imminent. Letting him walk was not a good decision. I was upset then and it still hurts.
  7. It's especially frustrating this season, because they looked like the '27 Yankees for a long stretch. I thought this might end up being the best Cubs offense we've ever seen. Alas....
  8. Yeah, no one is getting to 40 HRs on this team. I doubt PCA even gets to 35.
  9. Ok, leaving him in to face Turner. Gotta make them pay here.
  10. Suzuki/ Turner/ Kelly is pretty rough with Seiya's recent struggle.s.
  11. I don't care. Sweep these fools and scare the horsefeathers out of Milwaukee.
  12. Yeah, nearly every team will fall short. It can be hard not to recognize and call out the flaws that will almost certainly lead to your team being one of those. The incessant complaining is annoying, but those people are generally right on the money. It's us positives that are deluding ourselves.
  13. The Rockies were playing .500 ball for a long stretch, there, too.
  14. Tonight, Owen Caissie hit a ball harder than any that Nick Kurtz or Kyle Stowers (or many others) has all season.
  15. This is precisely why a guy like Pressly having a week with good numbers does nothing for me. Variance plays a big role in small sample sizes, so in those cases you have to rely on the eye test. Anyone can throw a lucky few innings.
  16. Word is that Owen will be in the starting lineup if he can make it to the ballpark in time.
  17. 12 runs, no HRs. Only 3 XBH. I swear they've got some Astros horsefeathers going on.
  18. Thomas White is the one I would target.
  19. The Cubs were starting to look like the team to beat prior to this stretch, so I can understand how some people are a bit crestfallen. There were some 2015 vibes happening and it stings to have those slip away.
  20. Caissie got hit the other night and hasn't been in the lineup since. Haven't seen any type of update here. Can't remember the last time a prospect of his caliber got less attention.
  21. Good lord, that offense. Ronny Cedeno had an .809 OPS.
