    OT is such a crapshoot though, especially if you get to a 3rd OT. McElroy even laid out the case for letting him throw it. He just threw a ball he knows he can't get away with.

    That throw hit the RB in the knee. That would have been an incredible catch if he had made it. 100% the QB's fault.

    Isn't Spags a Tom Coughlin guy? He was the Giants defensive coordinator when Eli won his 1st Super Bowl for sure.

    The window opens on the 15th and he has to decide by the 23rd. There's not really any negotiating because of the limits on international FA spending.

    I don't think they tell any story really. There's teams from all over the standings there. I guess if you want a narrative it's that there's more than one way to skin a cat.

    There aren't 10 wins on that schedule unless there are significant personnel changes. That's a death march.

    I had a very similarly low opinion of the guy after that press conference, but you don't have success to the level they have the last 2 seasons without there being some substance to it underneath the meatball facade. He clearly has the respect and belief from the players and even if he isn't the tactician behind either side of the ball, he's obviously a good CEO. He's a more meatbally version of John Harbaugh, who was a special teams coach before becoming a head coach. There's a level of skill to picking the right people to work for you and Campbell has to get credit for that.

    I think him being a hometown kid has more to do with it than anything else. If he was from San Diego there's no way this happens.

    Yeah, winning that game with almost nothing from behind the arc is an impressive feat. The depth on this team is insane and DGL is a hell of a competitor.

    Bills vs Eagles. I just don't think Detroit can overcome all the defensive injuries against actual good teams.

    Eh, I think there were enough reasons to blame the failures on Eberflus alone at that point but the craptastic finish to the season revealed more roster holes than it was initially believed there were. I don't think it's likely he's fired unless Warren decides he really wants Johnson and that's the deal breaker, but it's certainly a feasible possibility. I'd put it in the area of 67/33 retained vs fired.

    Illegal shift is a "live ball" penalty, just like holding or offsides. The play counts and then the other team gets to decide if they're taking the penalty or not, so you lose the time off the clock regardless. It was done correctly from a procedural standpoint.

    He played hurt the entire season after the injury. There are a lot of guys who would have been out 3-4 weeks with that injury. Props to him for being a gamer.

    This is an unexpected beating Illinois is putting on Oregon tonight.

    First, this was a super fun game and I was very pleasantly surprised to see Illinois play them close, let alone win. Second, yeah, Beamer seems to have some small man syndrome going on here. The way Bielema explained his issue with the fake fair catch "signal" was pretty measured and makes Beamer look like a douche trying to game the system because he didn't think his team could beat the other one straight up.
