  1. I’m not saying he didn’t do it, but that’s pretty thin evidence to think you can get a conviction from.
  2. I'm curious if Jenkins looking as bad as he did yesterday had something to do with playing next to a new center. Just from memory, it looked like most of the plays where he was beaten badly were on stunts or a similar play where there needed to be communication between him and the C as to who was taking which guy and it appeared there was a consistent miss there. Whether that's on him, the C or coaching, I don't know but it seems worth mentioning.
  3. I hope so. The only solace I take from all the positive comments about Flus are that it feels a little like the dreaded vote of confidence.
  4. I was already mostly in the get rid of everyone camp, but if Warren and Poles can legitimately watch that shitshow and say to themselves "Yeah, these are the guys that are going to get us to a Super Bowl", then the Bears are way more screwed than any of us could imagine.
  5. The NFL is a completely different beast than it was 15 years ago and winning with defense and a running game just isn’t a thing anymore.
  6. Illinois was playing tentative and scared the first 25 minutes. They were just bad. Terrible shot selection, not going to the rim, and generally just bad decision making. I think most of those guys not having seen Edey before had a lot to do with it. Rogers absolutely can’t be on the floor when Edey is because it allows him to just sit in the lane and guard the rim. It took Underwood way too long to figure that out and get another shooter on the floor to make him guard someone. Purdue’s supporting cast played exceptionally well.
  7. I hate B1G officiating so much. It certainly didn’t cost Illinois the game but it costs the conference in the tournament every year because they let these guys murder each other in conference play and then it’s a completely different game in the postseason. This game was a good example of how physical it gets.
  8. This feels like the most reasoned take I've seen and I can't disagree with him. My one caveat is that if you draft a QB at 1.1, you have to clean house with the coaching staff and get a guy that fits the QB that's selected. https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2024/1/3/24023364/chicago-bears-justin-fields-no-1-pick-decision
  9. I'm skeptical they can continue to shoot this well, Shannon playing or not. If they do, it's going to be a deep run in the tournament either way.
  10. I hope for the sake of all involved that it's not true but if he is guilty, yikes. It does seem convenient that this has suddenly popped up after his draft stock has risen significantly at the start of this season. I'm firmly in the believe women camp, but the timing is suspicious to me.
  11. If the FO (Poles/Warren) didn't see the deficiencies of this coaching staff in blowing 3 games they had a greater than 90% win probability late in the 4th quarter in, then I think we're in a for a really long wait until this team is good again. Those 3 games alone should cost any coach their job when they happen in a single season regardless of what else they accomplish, which in this case is jack horsefeathers.
  12. Well that's one way to interpret that.
  13. He's talking about actual DNA. Adenine, Cytosine, Guanine and Thymine.
  14. I disagree with the way Tom approaches almost everything but his disdain for owners and their profiteering is spot on. And you probably need to bring it down a notch because you're being a huge dick about this when you're dead wrong. A few instances of owners footing the bill is the exception, not the rule and the fact that they have people like you stanning for them not spending money is part of the problem.
  15. By all accounts they were both offered more money on an AAV basis than the Dodgers offered. Both guys clearly wanted to be in LA and there's not much anybody can do about that. It's a huge city, it's closest to Japan, and has a huge Asian population amongst who knows what other factors made that the most comfortable destination for them. Also, your insistence that a salary cap is the solution is just dumb. There's a reason these franchises keep escalating in value almost exponentially and it's not because they're scraping by just barely making any profits every year. It's because the greedy millionaire and billionaire owners keep pocketing massive profits. I'd much rather see those dollars in the hands of the talented player than a bunch of pencil pushing turds who think a banana costs $10. There needs to be a salary floor and there needs to be substantial penalties for too many losing seasons in a row to get them off their dead asses and give their fans hope so we don't see Oakland type situations any more.
  16. I think the point is we don't need to bemoan every little move made as if Jed is sitting on his hands. Rehashing the inactivity is unproductive and annoying, especially when it's related to a guy who wasn't a fit for the roster. Bitching just to bitch is dumb.
  17. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/39146754/mlb-free-agency-2023-24-rsn-tv-diamond-sports The important part if you don't have a log in: There will be at least three -- the Padres and D-backs once again and, sources said, the Colorado Rockies, who have been left without a TV deal now that Warner Bros. Discovery has essentially left the regional sports business. The Minnesota Twins, whose Bally Sports contract expired at season's end, could also join MLB for the 2024 season. So might the Texas Rangers and Cleveland Guardians, two teams Diamond will likely shed this offseason. Based on what's being said here, it sounds like revenues will be impacted (estimated 20% of team revenues come from local TV rights) but MLB will make sure games continue to be aired in local markets, whether it's a cable channel or in network streaming through MLBTV, which is what they did last year in AZ and SD.
  18. If it's anything like what's happening in STL, it sounds like status quo for the 2024 season and Amazon may get involved to stabilize things and make games available on a streaming platform. The Bally's app is just absolute hot garbage. You have to log in (with varying levels of success based on personal experience) every single time you open the app on a Firestick or other device and it constantly cuts out and is difficult to use.
  19. I'm pretty much done with Fields with only a small bit of the nagging "Is Getsy really this bad?" question in my mind. I'm no expert but just seeing some of the formations and concepts he tries to execute with guys who are on the margins of the roster because he seems to think he's smarter than everyone else is mind boggling. Get the damn ball to the best guys on your roster. Why was Tonyan running that route on the ball he dropped with Kmet blocking instead of the other way around? Why is Taylor Scott running an end around on 3rd down? I don't think that's enough to convince me Fields isn't the problem and the opportunity cost of not grabbing a guy at the top of the draft when the chance is there to do it when the likelihood of getting a guy who is the answer later is even smaller tells me they have to move on and reset everything from the head coach on down.
  20. It really is amazing how bad the concepts are on a lot of these short yardage plays. Fields getting tripped up was solid but nothing has approached acceptable outside of that.
  21. That was an incredible pick.
  22. Dammit. He's been solid all year. Is the lefty punt that much harder to catch?
  23. TB doesn't matter if the win the south
  24. This play calling alternates from decent to hot garbage pretty quickly. Every call that drive was trash.
