  1. So you have no romantic interest in the game is what you're saying?
  2. Looks like Carlos found the arm slot tonight.
  3. Never been there but I see the signs for it all the time. Actually, used to see them since I-64 is shut down right now.
  4. I wouldn't. Agreed. Too much will be unknown after the surgery he's going to have to have after the season. Not to mention the fact that he hasn't been very good this year outside of the power numbers.
  5. I'd imagine they just send Marshall to the rotation and call Stevens back up for the pen. I can't imagine the back will keep Z out more than one more start after this. Maybe piggyback Marshall and Heilman?
  6. Ascanio just made Pujols look really, really, really really bad on a slider. He's throwing some filth up there right now.
  7. He does that on purpose on a regular basis.
  8. Plenty thought the same last year about the Cubs The Phillies aren't the Cubs. Meaning? Meaning just that. Is it enjoyable to be Debbie Downer 100% of the time?
  9. Sheffield just singled and then proceeded to walk off the field injured. Man, they are just decimated at this point. If the manage to give this one away, it'll be even worse than last night's giveaway.
  10. Just awesome. http://www.kmov.com/localnews/stories/090804-women-charged-assualt-busch-wheelchair.ab8bc258.html?npc
  11. Like I said, I saw the spike mark on his left shin. I don't think it's anything more than that so it's probably just a bruise/cut.
  12. Looks like he got spiked in the left shin and it drew blood. Doesn't look like anything serious unfortunately. Maybe it'll get infected?
  13. That was absolutely destroyed. It's a poke to hit it out there over that wall in CF.
  14. Hopefully Gorzo can get thru 8 and only leave the pen 1 inning to screw things up.
  15. I [expletive] hate Dan McGlaughlin Yeah, he's a more faker, more Cardinal ass licking version of Joe Buck.
  16. Double to the wall by Santana. 2 runs score. 2-1 Mets still only 1 out. Now a sac fly for a 3-1 lead.
  17. Hopefully just one. Maybe LaRussa quits and the Cards hire him to destroy the franchise?
  18. Because Pujols is due a huge payday after next year I believe. If they want to keep payroll reasonably close to where it is, they can't afford $15MM for Holliday, $18 MM for Pujols, $10MM for Carpenter and Lohse, an ever increasing price tag for Wainwright and keep a decent roster elsewhere. If he continues on his hot streak, I'm pretty sure he walks. They can probably keep DeRo, but even with the money they have coming off the books this year (Pineiro, Glaus, Green, etc.) they'll have a bunch of holes to fill and not a ton of money or ML ready prospect to fill them.
  19. This isn't personal ranking, this is where I think they stand in the voting, and Happ seems to be getting more press, but that may change (and I could easily be wrong). Its really going to come down to which one of Happ/Wells finishes stronger. I don't think McCutchen or any of the other batters are going to do enough to really merit strong consideration and Hanson is already behind in wins, IP, K, ERA, whatever and probably won't be able to do enough, without going on some ridiculous run, to win. Which makes it all the more unfortunate he got hosed out of wins in his first couple of starts since that's really what the voters will look at.
  20. When did he start flailing away at pitches? He doesn't walk a lot yet, but he certainly hasn't been a strikeout machine by any means either.
  21. And the award for "Biggest understatement of the year post goes to.......EJ!!!!!!"
  22. See, here's the problem with Dusty. 107 pitches before the inning starts and he sends Harang back out there, He's going to end up throwing 120+ after the walk, maybe 130. Just dumb.
  23. Phillies are having a very Cub like inning against SF. Hit by the pitcher, flare by the leadoff guy, double by Sanchez and then a squibber down the 1st base line that Howard flipped into the first base dugout all ending in 3 runs scored so far.
