Did Mizzou getting drilled last night have a big effect on where they sit? I'm surprised to see Illinois ahead of them in rankings at this point.

I'm guessing that doesn't look much different than Illinois' resume. We have the bad loss to UIC and probably better overall wins against Gonzaga and UNC, same conference record, and got blasted by OSU at their place. And we're virtually a lock.

That's probably not true either. You think 5 random posters could average even 40% from the line? If I was one of the randoms, yeah. Free throws are easy to make if you have any clue what you're doing. I have to imagine that some of the bigger hoops fans on here have played some organized bball somewhere along the line.

Paletta has gotten a bad rap, but he's very highly regarded. He did the 2nd surgery I had on my shoulder and while its not ever going to be 100%, its markedly better than it was after the first time I had it fixed. He's actually a pretty cool guy too.

From what I've read, the Cardinals are paying a substantially larger portion of the stadium debt off annually than the loan actually requires. Now, granted, this probably saves them millions in the long run, but they could easily pay less principal on the loan if that was the difference between keeping Pujols and letting him walk.

Apparently nothing. And if we could hit 2 footers (or if it wasn't a football game out there) we'd be up by 10.

That's actually not accurate. They were a pretty good team (probably 90-92 wins good) who was really injured most of the year and got healthy the last 2-3 weeks of the season. They did get inexplicably hot, but the biggest factor by far was the fact that they had all their "horses" for pretty much the first time all year.

Because they are required by the leagues they aspire to be in to spend a certain amount of time "somewhere" prior to becoming eligible to be drafted into those leagues. College is the best/easiest route. Plus, the college can replace that guy with a new one and keep the money train rolling.

If Jackson is in the game, McCamey needs to plant his ass on the block and score every damn time down the court, but our staff and players are too stupid to figure that out.

Yes, we've all heard your song and dance already If there's one thing to take out of our reactions in this thread, it's that we're satisifed with the Illinois basketball program. Yeah, not sure how somebody could get that impression with all the bitching we do about the lack of effort and stupidity that goes on on the court on a regular basis.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but I heard about a huge incentive this morning for the owners to let the current deal expire. The judge who ruled in Vicks's favor (along with ruling in favor of the players on several other occasions) apparently will be removed from any involvement in collective bargaining if the current deal expires. This judge has been involved for 20+ years ever since making a ruling in favor of Reggie White that affected some part of the NFL's anti trust exemption. The owners are dying to get the judge out of the process apparently.

Which is why, if he does hit in the 2nd spot, it's so vital for Aramis to have a good year. I really think it's more important for Castro, being so young, than it would be for a lot of other guys that ARam has a good season so he actually gets pitches to hit. -

Seriously, just put in Leonard, Richmond, Bertrand, Head, and maybe Cole and see what happens. It can't be much worse than this pathetic display.

So Davis gets tackled on the way to the hoop and no call, then Shurna falls down with the ball and no travel, then Davis gets a hand ful of jersey on defense and no call. These refs are excruciatingly bad.
