  1. Yeah, and they got there by playing great defense and a frustratingly painful to watch offense. I was just using a hypothetical, nothing that Illinois has necessarily had. I just really think that unless his version of motion has a very good PG, they'll struggle to score. Honestly, with the athletes they've got now, I'd rather see them play an ACC brand of basketball and run a whole lot more, even with DMac out there.
  2. Still with this [expletive]? Not really, this was more directed to how much I think a true freshman PG will play under Weber, especially one with doubts about how much of a true PG he really is. What about the rest of what I said that you chose to ignore?
  3. It's even better in super slo-mo because of crappy download speeds. I think we get housed. Patriots 38-21. I think Brady is going to pick the defense apart with the underneath stuff and they won't be able to get off the field on 3rd down. I really hope I'm wrong.
  4. Yeah, but if you have 4 stars everywhere but PG, the offense will still not flow well. If you have 4 3 stars and a 4 star PG, that offense will look a lot better. And that's the point. There won't be a true PG next year (other than a freshman, and we all know how well/much they play under Weber), so regardless of all the other talent on the roster, I think the offense is going to struggle a bit.
  5. I read back through the last couple pages trying to figure out what sparked this little diatribe on Weber and still have no idea. I was thinking they lost to Oakland at first, but then saw it was just one of those games where they just flew halfway across the country and are probably in the middle of or about to start finals and were just a little less focused than you might like. Anyway, firing Weber at this point would be monumentally stupid. He's fine until Jerrance goes elsewhere and then he might have some issues again unless the bridges have been built to the Chicago recruits and he can keep getting guys, but I'm skeptical of that. Whoever said his version of the motion offense isn't all that great is right. They run way too much of the stand around and throw up a shot at the last minute crap. They're really going to struggle next year without a true PG to bail them out like DMac does all the time.
  6. Are you suggesting that one of ARam or Wright moves to 1B in that scenario? I'd love to have him especially since, as you said, everything else that will be out there is pretty much crap.
  7. I'm not sure how that's on your side. He puts the blame squarely on the lack of pass protection and then says Cutler has thrown the 12th most (I think?) deep balls of all NFL QBs. On top of that, think about the Rams with Warner at QB. They didn't throw a lot of deep balls either. It's a lot of timing that relies on getting the ball out quickly and hitting your receiver in stride so they can run with it. I just think we're seeing the offense evolve as Martz figure out what everybody does best, and a great example of that is the development of Bennett over the last month or so.
  8. I can't believe there weren't about 8 flags for that hit. The NFL needs to figure out how to get the refs to enforce their mandates on the shots to the head rules.
  9. I think that game last week had more to do with the Steelers not being as good as everybody is giving them credit for on top of the Bills playing about as well as they could have.
  10. I guess we'll have to root for NY when they play GB to help with the division. Does NO play anybody other than Atlanta the rest of the way?
  11. He's going to be bad in RF, not LF (unless something tragic happens to Matt Holliday). They're moving Holliday to Right. That outfield is going to be about as bad as it gets defensively. Hopefully Berkman will continue to be as injured as he's been the last few years.
  12. It doesn't matter how good your mechanics or decision making are when you're on your butt because you couldn't get away from the rush. Now, Jay does make some curious in-pocket decisions on occasion, namely the fumble and the other sack in the 3rd quarter today, but most of these other guys you're talking about don't make the plays Jay can with his feet like the scramble where Suh hit him or the other one where he nearly lost his head from that attempted hit by Delmas.
  13. I think today was a let down game coming off the huge win against Philly. They played like crap against Seattle after winning several in a row. Fortunately, they were just good enough (or Detroit was bad enough) for them to pull it out. It will be exceptionally annoying if they do manage to go 11-5 and don't get in, which I think is pretty unlikely to happen. Too many different things will happen between now and when the season ends.
  14. Is 8/$160 really a bad deal for the production you're going to get? He'll probably hit another 5-8 HR every year getting out of Petco.
  15. Wow, dumbest team ever.
  16. Well, they've got a chance.
  17. Seriously, are the Saints bad or did somebody light a fire under the Bengals asses?
  18. I can only assume the line was 4.5?
  19. They woke up in the 2nd half at least. 50 total yards given up.
  20. Great call and execution.
  21. That's dangerous, they did it to end the first half.
  22. I'd like to know who all these game managing QBs are who have an 80% completion %.
  23. About damn time we got there.
  24. Yeah. It was more of his elbow then forearm. That's even worse.
  25. Punch to the back of the head = cheap shot, yes. Yeah, that's not what happened. Apparently you have a different game on because he jacked him in the back of the head, which, QB or not, is totally illegal.
