  1. After all the bashing, I think it can be nothing but a good thing when guys like Brees and Rivers say stuff like this. They have a bit of perspective on things and may shut some people up considering that, you know, they're actually NFL QBs.
  2. My weakness is this sausage dip. A pound of hot pork sausage and a pound of mild. Brown the sausage, throw it in a crock pot with 2 bricks of cream cheese and a can of Rotel Cilantro and Lime. Let it all melt and use the Tostitos scoops for dipping. Absolutely awful for you but so delicious.
  3. Maybe not this year, but the Rams started their 2nd round pick from this year at LT from day 1 and he's going to be at that spot for a long time.
  4. Intentional!!!!
  5. Can you name me a player who retired (whether he just quit or because of injuries) while still on his contract and not get paid at all whatsoever?? Cuz I can't think of one. If you can and it's legit, I'll shut up and eat my words on it. I'm just thinking cuz the player's union is going to back up the players, they're just not gonna let the owner have that money to himself even if Meche doesn't want the money. I mean I'm even trying to think of a player (who quit/retired due to injury) during a season and not get paid after he was done cuz they still pay him for the rest of the year. That's a little different, but still kinda the same (they didn't pay the player a prorated portion of the salary cuz he retired/quit partway through the season cuz the contract was voided the day he retired). I mean this can't be the first time someone ever done what Meche is doing now right??? Maybe I should just shut up cuz I don't understand or something... Maybe there is a clause in the contract where the contract is voided if you retire on your own term. I don't have that much knowledge about the contract and retirement so I'm just wondering and trying to figure it out. So you think that if you have a contract and decide you don't want to show up for work anymore that your employer still has to pay you? Really?
  6. You also have to consider the huge personalities on the team and the fact that there were several sure fire HOFers on that 85 team, then you add in Ditka as the HC and Buddy Ryan as the DC. The hoopla around this team just isn't quite there. The only reason it's even in the ballpark of some of the other things being discussed is because it's against the Packers. That said, I'm excited as hell about the game and hope they just curb stomp the Pack.
  7. Why do you speak ill of Musberger? Is he not as good at basketball games? I think he sucks at announcing regardless of the sport. Watch some Big Ten Network or Jimmy Dykes (I think) doing SEC games and you'll long for Musberger.
  8. Bears-Chuck Norris Packers-Does it even matter?
  9. and bears fans are like "omg the pats lost" I certainly am. Can't really believe it. 60 minutes just had a report on this guy who has won millions & millions betting on football. I wonder if he had the Jets. I wonder if he had the Seahawks last week. I freely admit it. I can no more predict football than I can climb Mt. Everest. Yeah, the NFL has become ridiculously unpredictable. I have a really hard time rooting for a rapist, so, while the Jets are annoying, at least their players only get DUIs and the like.
  10. Yeah, I've been supportive to this point, but it's becoming obvious that this offense just doesn't work the way he runs it. If you have to have an NBA All Star to make it work, you need to go a different direction. I'm beginning to think Weber does need to go.
  11. Suspended for missing a practice earlier this week. And not that it would have mattered. Between the sheer stupidity this team displays and the fact Wisconsin was allowed to play football in the first half, there was no way we were winning.
  12. This is pathetic. 15-15 with 5 minutes left? Ugh. And the officiating has been awful for both teams again
  13. Delete if necessary, but ESPN sucks so I figure it's ok.
  14. I'd imagine Bush would be looking for (and finding easily) a starting job. And I don't think a backup RB should be signed via FA since there's only so many dollars to spend on FA. Never mind, I'm occasionally illiterate.
  15. Because Illinois has had guys who either couldn't shoot or are as stupid as they come on a basketball court.
  16. This continues to be the dumbest team ever, with special mentin to Davis.
  17. How did I not know Shon Morris is white?
  18. I was laughing my ass off at the Stacey commentary. Hilarious!
  19. WTH happened to ND tonight?
  20. That would be dumb. Cashner will have huge value as a starter and it's asinine to further stunt his growth by having him do anything other than start, either in Chicago or Iowa.
  21. But at least it was a really good hooker!
  22. Because he probably meant conference road opener and just misspoke. Guy announcing Mizzou-Colorado said just about the same thing and corrected himself.
  23. It's not a good rule. There hasn't been anyone that benefited from this rule either, as every head coach that's been hired certainly was qualified with or without the rule in place. And in an instance like this, where Harbaugh is a high-profile "get", why you HAVE to interview anyone else seems redundant to me. That said, the Fins know the rules and before pitching Harbaugh, they should have already made their "courtesy" interview. Of course, they also should have went ahead and fired their head coach before doing any of this stuff to begin with, so they get a big FAIL all around. Tomlin? Everything I've heard about that situation was that he really only did get the interview because of the rule. I really think they would have gone with one of the guys on staff (were Whisenhunt and Grimm still around then?) or somebody else because he kind of came out of nowhere.
  24. yeah, it moved but his hands were under the ball so I don't think they can overturn it. You couldn't see the ball hit the ground in the shot they showed.
  25. That would make a lot of sense, considering McDaniel's affection for Cassel, and the ability to rub it in Denver's face. Maybe Haley is pushing Weis out and Charlie knows it. Combined with the fact that Haley is kind of a miserable prick from all accounts I've heard, that would make the most sense. Although that non-handshake after the first Denver-KC game seems even weirder now.
