  1. Seems like a silly question since Stevens has proven it wasn't a fluke. Also, that's freaking awesome! KU loses to another double digit seed. Crazy.
  2. This would be so glorious! I guess the key to beating Kansas is to be a double digit seed or from Iowa.
  3. Unfortunately we don't have Jordan/Pippen/Rodman manning the outfield.
  4. I'd rather have my nuts chopped off than ever root for anything remotely related to Calipari.
  5. Based on the radio discussion down here, it appears that LaGenius will be putting Theriot in the leadoff spot to start the season. I love it when his love for grittyness and inability to be wrong rear their ugly heads.
  6. He may be a less than eloquent fat slob, but he usually has good info and doesn't have a tendency to spread stupid rumors.
  7. Bernie Miklasz has been talking about it on the radio today. Apparently Painter had some escape clause specifically put into his contract that kicks in at the end of this season. He also said he talked to somebody he trusts that gave him the info and he even mentioned it to Andy Katz when he was talking to him on air. He said he was going to tell Katz who to call off air. Bernie doesn't tend to be one to blow smoke for no reason, so there may be something to it. He even admitted that it doesn't make much sense but there are a few reasons he mentioned to think there might be something to it, even if it is just Painter using it to get a raise since he's only making a paltry 1.2-1.3 million.
  8. Is Arkansas really a better job? The SEC is hot garbage and has been for some time. It's not, but apparently a 10% raise and his past there was enough to convince him I guess. The situation sucks, but at least I don't have to worry about Jimmy Sexton's sleaze anymore, and Mike Alden has made very good hires for a decade running. Hopefully the new guy can get some momentum with a senior heavy team next year and then make some headway with his own guys. Keeping Phil Pressey and/or getting Otto Porter would be a nice bonus too. the more im reading, the more intriguing cuonzo martin sounds. hes young and has good connections, especially in st louis. and he comes from a good coaching tree. what have the keady-ites done in the tourney except for the one year that weber had deron williams and luther head? even keady himself never made it that far. you should stay as far away from that tree as possible. Well, Martin has taken the Missouri State program that was largely floundering and made them decent again. They could do worse than him too. Plus, isn't he from East St. Louis?
  9. I don't buy Painter leaving his Alma mater for Mizzou. No offense Mizzou guys. Paul Lusk did just withdraw his name from the NIU job so maybe... but I don't buy it. I haven't seen anything on the Purdue Rivals boards either - where I'm sure panic would be ensuing. As an Illinois fan who hates you both, :D I would be shocked if there was any truth to that. Doesn't make much sense at all.
  10. Hey, they make you wear shorts that tiny. I run around in circles in shorts that cover my thigh, so watch yourself! :D
  11. Not a rule. You can call a TO any time before the ref actually blows the whistle for the 5 second call.
  12. Hopefully Bruce and his loser son have a murder suicide in their future Damn. Weren't you like 3 years old when that all went down? Pearl is a piece of [expletive] to be sure, but that's a lot of venom for someone who was just a kid when it happened. It's really not considering it completely derailed the program for nearly 10 years.
  13. Look, we only bitch when things go bad. Nobody has done anything monumentally stupid...........yet.
  14. Spot on except for the part where he thinks anything Cowherd says is entertaining or worth listening to.
  15. Just got this from the NFL:
  16. What the hell happened?
  17. Did Mizzou getting drilled last night have a big effect on where they sit? I'm surprised to see Illinois ahead of them in rankings at this point.
  18. I'm guessing that doesn't look much different than Illinois' resume. We have the bad loss to UIC and probably better overall wins against Gonzaga and UNC, same conference record, and got blasted by OSU at their place. And we're virtually a lock.
  19. That's probably not true either. You think 5 random posters could average even 40% from the line? If I was one of the randoms, yeah. Free throws are easy to make if you have any clue what you're doing. I have to imagine that some of the bigger hoops fans on here have played some organized bball somewhere along the line.
  20. Paletta has gotten a bad rap, but he's very highly regarded. He did the 2nd surgery I had on my shoulder and while its not ever going to be 100%, its markedly better than it was after the first time I had it fixed. He's actually a pretty cool guy too.
  21. From what I've read, the Cardinals are paying a substantially larger portion of the stadium debt off annually than the loan actually requires. Now, granted, this probably saves them millions in the long run, but they could easily pay less principal on the loan if that was the difference between keeping Pujols and letting him walk.
  22. Dumbest basketball team ever assembled.
  23. Apparently nothing. And if we could hit 2 footers (or if it wasn't a football game out there) we'd be up by 10.
