    I think that used to be the case, but with his continuing insanity with goofy lineups and insisting on having guys like Theriot and Schumaker around when they're terrible defensively and you have a high GB rate pitching staff, it's more a case of not liking his managing. That doesn't change anything in terms of how much of a drunk maniac and raging prick he is though.

    I don't think there's a chance that Urlacher will be an analyst. I could see him in coaching, though. Wasn't real clear the way he wrote it, but he meant Lewis would be an analyst.

    Well, that might work if Leonard wasn't from a pretty small school in the middle of nowhere southern Illinois. On a Chicago kid, maybe.

    Outside of Ludwick with the Cards, and his problems were mostly injury related, there's really not much to indicate this might be real. Although, I'm not entirely familiar with what he actually did when he supposedly remade his swing. That's the only thing that gives me pause with him having some future potential, not that I even remotely expect him to be anything more than slightly above average long term.

    Hell, with the lack of 3B production out there, I'd give him 2/25-26 and not feel bad about it. Saves a few million next year and prevents any thought of rushing Vitters at all.

    I hope you are right, but I am starting to wonder. I am not sure at all that we understand roster construction. We have 2011 PG Tracy Abrams, 2012 PG Michael Orris, 2013 PG Jalen James, and we've offered 2014 PG Larry Austin. You don't need that many point guards on one roster, especially when you have guys like Bertrand and Head who can play it if necessary. That's great except they can't play it effectively. But yeah, they're definitely overdoing the PG slot. I think it's overreaction to being left short like we are now.

Are you purposely being obtuse here, or do you really not understand the difference between causing fumbles and recovering fumbles?     I hope everybody saw him 8 yards in the backfield on some of those short yardage plays. Yep, watching him get pushed around by Raji all game made me really happy he's gone. If the Saints defense is really as bad as GB made them look last week, I like the Bears chances here. Especially if the d line gets the pressure they did this week. Biggest concern is NO getting an early lead and allowing their D to be super aggressive and really go after takeaways.

    Wow! Just got some info from a guy who has solid connections within the Oklahoma athletic department. According to him, it's already a done deal that Texas, OU, OSU and Tech are all going to what will be the PAC-16. However, here's the interesting part: it will only be for football and basketball. All the non-revenue sports will continue to compete in the old Big 12 due to concern over travel budgets.

    I hope the NFL has the sense to donate the money to some worthy cause that benefits the people/families that were victims of 9/11. Or just not be stupid enough to actually fine anybody who wears them.

    Yeah, too bad some of us couldn't watch it. #-o No power, no cell phone and air card didn't work. Candlelight, flashlights and getting to know the neighbors better is how I spent my evening. Yay! Hope everyone else enjoyed the kickoff to the NFL season. I'm gonna go ahead and not feel too bad for you because you live in the most ideal climate on the planet. And it was a great game that unfortunately ended on a terrible play call.

    That was the reported offer they made this spring that he turned down. It got talked about earlier this week or late last week. Don't remember who reported it but I remember it being somebody reputable.

    You do realize it came from a previous incident that Morgan initiated, right? Oh, definitely. The Cards hate Morgan from some incident when he was with the Nats. Plus he was talking trash after he doubled earlier in the game. He's an idiot, but Carpenter definitely said something to him. Like I said though, that doesn't excuse his idiotic behavior in any way. I actually kind of like Carpenter telling him f you after he struck him out in the midst of a CG shutout. But he's a prick on the field too.

    Just heard on the radio that Carpenter said F you to him after he struck him out and that's what set him off. Doesn't make him any less annoying, but at least he kind of had a reason this time.

    I had no idea he was in the bigs again. Had a pretty good night last night, albeit against the Mariners.

His family still lives right next door to my dad and there's no reason he should be allowed to play this year. There are no extenuating circumstances whatsoever and I hope the IHSA sticks it to him and doesn't let him play.

    Maybe I'm too optimistic, but having Delaney say quality over quantity would mean ND and a school out east (should push come to shove). And then hopefully no reason to go from 14 to 16 schools. Eh, if things start shifting around, they're going to have to go to 16. I think Mizzou honestly fits in better than most schools would and they bring the St. Louis (what Illinois doesn't already bring) and KC TV markets with them. Academics are good enough and it's much better geographically than others. Plus, there's already rivalries with Illinois and Nebraska. I can't see ND ever giving up their NBC contract, so who knows where they end up. I'm sure they'll add the Pitt/Rutgers/ whoever from out east to get the NY/Philly market though.

    Glad he recovered, but I just don't see why you bring him back to pitch in a month of meaningless games. To finish his rehab? You do realize he's been pitching in the minors for over a month right?
