  1. I've seen elsewhere that this guy is visiting Illinois during MM. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Jonathan-Holton-89231
  2. Just heard this on the radio a little while ago and surprised there hasn't been more talk about it.
  3. I think last night's performance boils down to 3 things: 1. The Giants were terribly desperate for a victory and their D-line was very motivated to play well. 2. Short week of prep for the Bears, and I'm not excusing it, but I think it played a part. 3. The Bears being a bit over confident after getting off to the 3-0 start.
  4. What? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1817592 So you're saying they should.........pas the ball????? Because that would be a huge shocker at this point.
  5. We're lucky he's a rookie and didn't realize he could have run for the first down on that play.
  6. I'm not a fan of these huge ratings especially because this game topped another Bear game from last year. ESPN and NBC see these numbers are going to want the Bears in primetime but I prefer the Sunday afternoon games by a wide margin. Living in the St. Louis area, I love the prime time games because I actually get to watch them without having to go to a bar. Works for me, but I can see wanting to watch the game with your own beer on your own couch on Sunday afternoon if you get all the games anyway.
  7. I don't really care either way, but I think you're walking a fine line when the employer is providing the alcohol and doing it free of charge.
  8. Maybe the best athlete, but Moore certainly proved he's a better QB, especially in crunch time.
  9. I'm sure it's pretty loud on the field, if you see the WR keep moving downfield, you tackle him. Exactly. The guy was still running like the play was live so you go hit him. And I hope Boise hangs on.
  10. Would have been if the DB kept running.
  11. Wow, that was pretty impressive, help from the penalty or not. I'm ok with the block in the back call, but that late hit definitely should have been waved off.
  12. He's on a one year deal, so there's no contract keeping him here. The more I hear on talk radio down here, the more it sounds like the players are tired of his power plays and I'm smarter than everybody attitude. If Pujols wasn't his greatest advocate, I think he'd have been gone a year or two ago. (Pujols being his greatest advocate meaning if it was the Cards best player, but a guy not as "great" as Pujols, LaRussa wouldn't probably still be here).
  13. The cell phone? Awesome. And really, who even has a mask like that to throw in your back pocket and bust out on national TV?
  14. He's like a bad middle school teacher where he picks his favorites and they get away with whatever while everybody else has to play by the rules. Then, if you don't, Tony plays the victim and makes the player look like a pariah and off the team he goes. The only reason Rolen lasted as long as he did is because Tony knew he needed him as much as he needed Pujols at the time.
  15. I was at the Illinois-Mizzou game today and still haven't seen a replay of Mizzou's 1st TD. Was the guy inbounds or not? I was sitting nearly lined up with the back of the end zone and it sure looked like one foot was in and one was out when he caught the ball, but of course Illinois was too dumb to call a timeout to get the play reviewed.
  16. Total gut feeling here, but it looks to me like they're setting things up for major off season changes. I almost expect Hendry to be gone. This whole first year of ownership really looks like an evaluation period to see where everything/everyone is and then this winter, they make changes based on how they feel things are going and where they need to go. I was also going to bring up McNutt. Is it possible that the Cubs and Angels got a bit of a different look at the kid than everyone else based on when they saw him? Wilken does have a pretty decent record of finding guys nobody else was real high on and getting the to the bigs.
  17. I will be at this crapfest today likely watching the Cubs score a negative number of runs and give up about 2 touchdowns worth. Fortunately for me, the tickets were free and they include unlimited food and drink. If it gets too bad, I won't care because I'll be smashed.
  18. Glaus is much worse than Chipper when you take into account the fact he probably can't make most of the throws from 3B any more. His shoulder is trashed and just not strong enough to play 3rd, for sure right now and probably ever.
  19. I don't hate him, he's a fan of his team. I just don't get why he hates us. We've been awful for about 50 years really, give or take a season or six. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to hate the Cardinals? Yeah, but unlike the Cardinal fans, Cub fans have most/all their teeth and money to travel to Cincinnati and take over their park every time we play them.
  20. The $200K figure isn't in the article anymore.
  21. Apparently Childress just said the "situation is fluid" in his press conference. What a total d-bag Favre is.
  22. I don't think it's nearly enough of a no-brainer. Personally, I think the absence of uppers is having much more of an impact on the offense over the years than cracking down on steroids. I don't think this could be more accurate. I can't imagine the wear and tear the travel and every day grind puts on you body. That's true, but if you're taking them day after day, they're still going to be in your system and with the random testing that's done, the chances of getting popped would be pretty high.
  23. It pained me a bit the other day when I saw him in a Yankee uniform and then throw that frisbee like slider up there and just completely buckle Longoria's knees. So unfortunate the guy hasn't been able to stay healthy.
  24. I think one of the bigger upsides of this trade for the Cards is saving their pen a bit. With Garcia's innings being limited and Suppan and Hawksworth just bad, they really needed another guy to eat some innings to allow them to have a chance late in the 2nd half instead of a completely gassed pen. I'm not saying this is a great, or even good, deal for them, but it's got some merit.
