  1. Expect? Not necessarily. Think they will? Yes Michigan State can be beaten...especially on the road. Don't get me wrong, they are a fantastic team and are more likely to win, but if NW and Illinois can beat MSU at home, Indiana certainly can. Yeah, they're playing an entirely different level of basketball right now than when they lost those 2 games.
  2. There's also a huge difference between passing to a guy like Kerr who was consistently among the top 3 pt. % shooters in the NBA every year and a guy like Boobie Gibson, who's kind of just a guy.
  3. No, this just means they have to be very diligent in following the policy they have written. That's why this got thrown out, because procedure wasn't strictly adhered to in the eyes or the arbitrator.
  4. There has to be more to this story. Based on what Mike and Mike just read out of the MLB testing protocol and my own experience handling samples in the proper way so chain of custody isn't broken, I have absolutely no idea how or why this ruling was made. The guy who had the sample did everything he was supposed to do to maintain the integrity of the sample. I'd be surprised if MLB doesn't appeal this and a bit surprised if this ruling doesn't get overturned and he has to serve the suspension at some point. That is, unless there are more details we haven't heard yet.
  5. Yesterday was the first time I've noticed him not playing hard. The kid clearly has some growing up to do so I'm not absolving him completely of any blame, but Weber has handled this whole season so abysmally that I have a hard time being too hard on Leonard. As a side note, he's not getting ripped like Adam Morrison because he doesn't have a ridiculous mustache.
  6. It's strange. Bruce had an epiphany the other night. Not sure how this is happening, adios clownshoes. They have all just completely and totally quit on him. You reap what you sow. I guess you can only throw your players under the bus so many times before they tell you to eff off. I just hope they all stick around and the next coach figures out how to utilize all the talent on the roster.
  7. Is it me or is Leonard not even trying anymore?
  8. And as soon as I turn on the Illinois game they proceed to start crapping the bed. Shocking!
  9. 1, but he also wasn't usually the smallest guy on the court and able to be neutralized by a bigger, better athlete during crunch time.
  10. ig said he gets it within 60 days Update on The Score just said that alumni/donors have made it clear to the AD that the buyout should not be a factor in his decision to fire or not fire Weber.
  11. I think the real problem is that you have no idea what you're talking about. Pretty much. A good coach can make the pieces fit. You adjust to your teams strengths. I ran a motion offense in high school that was completely different between my junior and senior years because we had different strengths and weaknesses. It's not complicated, but he keeps running the same crap that doesn't work. He's clearly lost the players, and while that's partly on them, it certainly has more to do with the fact that Weber has failed to do his job well.
  12. In terms of in game coaching, this has probably been my single biggest complaint with Weber. Plays after a TO and out of bounds plays in general are almost always 100% unproductive. Can we get Shaka?
  13. Unless there is a clause in the contract that says he will (like the one Cespedes and Fukudome got) than no. It will be like what is happening to Samardzija now. If he doesn't have enough service time for arbitration (which seems likely), then the Cubs will be able to cut his last years salary by the full 20% if they want to, or they can choose to non-tender him at that point. Unless there is that clause though, he'd be under Cubs control for the 6 years of major league service time just like every prospect. Still don't get it 100%. Is the basic jist that no matter what, he's under our control for 6 years after his big league debut no matter what? I guess my main confusion about these types of deals is what they mean by major league deal if he'll be in the minors and not even on the 40 man. Does it just mean that he'll be getting paid more as opposed to standard minor league salary? Seriously, do you have any capacity for reading comprehension? This has been discussed ad nauseum in the Cespedes thread. Unless the contract specifically stipulates that the player is entitled to free agency at the end of the contract, the team has control of him for six major league seasons unless they give up that right by releasing him. And yes, a major league deal means he's on the 40 man. You don't have to be at any specific level in the minors to be on the 40 man. Now, go read (and comprehend some things while you're at it) before you post anything else today. Or, just go away altogether. I'd be down with that option.
  14. Quit shoving your Jenny McCarthy in Tree's sister's face.
  15. If it's the one that miraculously performed a Tebow on Pierce, I'll help pay for it! \:D/
  16. Gone Circumcisin' Actually, I'm pretty sure he's on a date with Jenny McCarthy.
  17. My favorite play was when the IU guard came around the elbow on the drive, very clearly forearm shivered the UI defender in the chest to get around the corner and to the basket and the UI guy got called for the foul. That was awesome. And pretty typical of the calls most of the game. Not that the Illini aren't a bunch of terribly coached choking dogs at this point, but the officiating certainly was a hindrance last night.
  18. that was a terrible last minute for him. missed 2 FTs, tipped the ball in his own basket, and then gave Rivers 4 feet to shoot a wide open game winning 3. In his defense, I'm pretty sure he got a forearm in the back on his way up when he tipped that missed 3 in.
  19. But what if he blew by him? Then you go to OT. And don't lose in regulation. Like they just did. I was kidding Well be more obvious next time! My detector missed that one!
  20. Was everybody aware of this UConn tourney ban next year and I just missed it? Seems like it would have been discussed.
  21. But what if he blew by him? Then you go to OT. And don't lose in regulation. Like they just did.
  22. And what Fouts did is never referred to as west coast offense. I have no idea where you're getting that. It's known as Air Coryell and the Bill Walsh style is west coast.
  23. Well considering that Barney's value comes from great defense and adequate offense and Cardens is considered a butcher just about anywhere he plays, they don't even have to be that accurate to make a marked difference. Plus, didn't Barney somewhat exceed MLEs based on his AAA numbers?
  24. I find that to be the case with many people who use god as a crutch like he does.
  25. Or a road team in the phog? Fun fact Cole alrdich never fouled out of a game in college. But as an NBA player has fouled every 4 minutes he's been on the court. Did he forget the coaching that Self gave him to not foul all the time while challenging every shot? That was my exact thought when I read that.
