    Rizzo

    Brown and lazy?

  3. Whether or not that prospect is highly regarded, he still doesn't provide the team with the guarantee he'll be effective at the major league level while someone like Samardzija does. Is it likely that someone like Archie Bradley develops into a productive young pitcher? Sure, but he has no track record to provide his team the peace of mind of knowing that every 5th start there's a good chance they're gonna get some good innings out of their guy. Samardzija, meanwhile, is going out there every 5th start and dominating while the other teams sit and watch what they could have in their rotation while waiting for their wunderkinds to be ready for the majors as their team struggles. You mean exactly what the Cardinals did when they traded Dan Haren for Mark Mulder?
  4. Man, some rough officiating for the Bulls at the end of the 3rd there.
  5. The ball movement has been fantastic. And when 3 guys went to the floor scrambling for the ball, it was amazing how they somehow managed to get to every guy who wanted to shoot to challenge it.
  6. I've always liked him, especially since I saw him in person in Peoria a couple years ago. His fastball just seems heavy to me and he pitched like 6 shutout innings that night. If he can figure out how to throw strikes again, I think he's got s good shot to contribute.
  7. I disagree. If you time it he took about 6 seconds to get to first base as he admired his "home run", but he took about 6.5 seconds to get from first to third. Carlos Gomez is fast, he could've easily made that an inside the parker if he was running hard out of the batters box. Might've been close, but it's not 0% Considering that 4 seconds to first is flying, you're giving him 2 seconds to get from 3rd to home when he took 3.25 to get between bases from 1st to 3rd. You have bad maths.

    Rizzo

OK. That's fair. I think Rizzo is good and will be a big part of our lineup and a reason why our team is hopefully good in the future. (I know, way to go out on the ledge). Now, I do think it might have to be Baez and Bryant that become the superstars, the guys in the middle of the order who hit 35 homers a year. Because I'm not sure Rizzo is going to be that guy. But damn, a Baez, Bryant, Rizzo 3-4-5 could be awesome. This seems reasonable. He can play the DLee role to Baez and Bryant being Alou and Sosa. Now we just need one of the 3B to be decent along with Castro and they're most of the way there. Oh, and I'd go cherub like on Rizzo's face.
  9. I was starting to think my computer was crapping out on me but I couldn't get it to work on my tablet or phone either. I think the app is having some of it's own issues too.
  10. I don't see how anyone can be super down on Rizzo. This is a fun little meaningless comparison. Age 23 seasons. Anthony Rizzo: 160 G .233/.323/.419/.742 (101 OPS+) 23 HR 80 RBI 40 2B 2 3B 76 BB 127 K 1.6 fWAR/2.8 rWAR Player B: 146 G .259/.331/.480/.811 (102 OPS+) 26 HR 84 RBI 29 2B 5 3B 44 BB 120 K 1.9 fWAR/2.7 rWAR Votto?
  11. if bryant's not going to be able to stick at third base anyway can he please put on like 30 pounds of muscle. i want a giant hitmonster on our team. So Stanton then?
  12. JD is great: "That may have been the worst major league swing I've ever seen, especially on a fastball right down the middle."
  13. This is how they looked against the wings last year until they snapped out of it. Just a half step slow and not able to get the puck out of their end. And then the switch flipped on.
  14. They're winning on Saturday. I'm not paying $125 to see them lose.
  15. Crow's been great since the first.
  16. That seems like a horse [expletive] penalty.
  17. Yes! Man that was really slick.
  18. You have no idea what you're talking about.
  19. It would be pretty embarrassing for Mizzou to lose a coach to Tulsa.
  20. Valbuena??? His avg sucks but his OBP is .345, so yes, Valbuena.
  21. Rosscup should stay up. He can throw strikes, which, amazingly, results in not getting behind every hitter and having to throw the ball right down the middle for HRs. I'm looking at you James Russell.
  22. Was that another broken bat? Seriously, Wood is having the worst luck.
  23. They could use it today because the regularly scheduled game was the night game and that's been on the schedule forever, so the 26th man rule could be used.
