  1. it may have more to do with playing San Diego 4 times(2-2) and the Mets(2-0). Prior that 17 games they had just gone 1-5 vs STL/ATL. This is a team with good pitching and very, very streaky players. When we lose we will keep it close, when our offense rolls, we win by a lot, but that simply doesn't happen often enough. We have Rizzo and Valbuena above .800 ops, and then Castro is above .700 and no other regulars above .700- That's just not a potential .500 team. Something something run environment.
  2. awwwwww [expletive] no I was thinking that was the guy from App St. and you certainly confirmed it for me.
  3. That whole admitting to being addicted to pot probably deflates the value a bit.
  4. I may be way off base but this made my heart sink a little, because I was hoping for at least one guy who could start or play in the OF or C next season. This makes me re-rethink when they plan on being competitive. Am I wrong? I don't see why getting a pick would be any different than getting a high ceiling, high risk minor leaguer as part of a deal, they just have more control over who that guy is. I don't see it as having any relevance to when they're going to be competitive one way or the other.
  5. The download has nothing to do with it because it wasn't coming from EA, but yeah, the fact that the Duke PG just happened to have the same skillset as their PG that year along with his physical features, uhhh yeah, you're selling that guy's image. And to Derwood, the guys on those covers were always guys who were done with their NCAA eligibility one way or another. Oh yeah, I know, it was just another point in their favor that the guys on the game actually matched the guys on the teams.
  6. I'm getting to the point where I lean that direction too. As much as you don't draft for need, it sure would be nice to have an actual catching prospect in the system.
  7. They are, the Hawks just can't stay on their feet to get off a clean shot on what seems like the last half dozen they've had.
  8. Bickell too. He's been pretty invisible since the Blues series.
  9. Seems like LA is getting a lot of hands to the Hawks faces. Haven't noticed as much of that before tonight.
  10. Who let this guy back into Other Sports?
  11. the league doesn't want to see the Hawks win another cup. That makes zero sense. They're getting unheard of ratings with the Hawks in it.
  12. Does the puck or just the stick have to be above the bar? If it's the puck, it's the right call.
  13. That was my first reaction.
  14. It would be nice for this to be a nice, stress free 5 or 6-0 game.
  15. How can they win that? EA purposely didn't use any real names in their NCAA titles, and the "likenesses" are generally generic cartoon people. Maybe the handful of players who were on the covers of the games might get something, but Mr. Left Guard On Louisiana-Lafayette deserves nothing Well, when height, weight, ethnicity and number all match the guy who played that position for that team in that year, it becomes patently obvious what they did. Combined with the fact that you could go out and buy a download to populate all the names to what they actually were and they have a great case.
  16. Too many unknowns right now for me to have a real solid opinion. Depends a ton on who is in the mix for the return (which I have little doubt they'll get good value) but even moreso on who's available on his type of deal this offseason. I'd be fine with giving him 2 more years at a similar rate to what he's getting this year if the other options for next year aren't appealing.
  17. Oh, I'm completely on board with disliking him. His scoring is getting a bit annoying.
  18. My biggest concern with him is that he's only averaged 6 IP/start once in his career. And I'd much rather give him 2/$8-10 per than a QO. I don't think he'd get signed until after the deadline if they did that if he turned it down and it's a pretty unnecessary overpay if he doesn't.
  19. I just thought the disrespected thing was funny and Rizzo didn't play yesterday.
  20. Here's the first one. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/52448062/v33330777/chcmil-rizzo-lifts-a-tworun-homer-to-rightcenter And there's #2. Great call by JD too. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/52448062/v33333083/chcmil-rizzo-lifts-his-second-tworun-homer
  21. Yeah, to me. I'm tired of watching them get shut out every other day. But in the grand scheme of things, no, probably not really.
  22. There has to be somebody out there on the scrap heap better than what they're throwing out there every day. I'm tired of seeing Nate and his non existent OBP all the time.
  23. And that one was more impressive.
