  1. Well that's just a dumb rule. The right call, but there's no way he should get that base when his progress wasn't impeded in the least.
  2. Yeah, it went far. Anybody know what the deal is with Peralta? Sounded like he got dinged earlier in the game.
  3. So why is he a dope? That sounds pretty tame and inoffensive and mostly just the cliche stuff you would hear after a game like that.
  4. I'd be inclined to stick him at 3B regardless just to keep him away from the potential of Matt Holliday destroying him trying to break up a DP going hard into 2nd.
  5. I have no idea how he missed the completely open net.
  6. No kidding. All 3 balls that inning were hit pretty hard, even Wada's.
  7. Man, there was nobody near Handzus.
  8. I'm not a huge hockey fan, but the last 40 minutes are why hockey playoffs are the best. These guys are just flying around.
  9. Man, the pace has been torrid so far in the 3rd.
  10. I think Jake Areola would have been a better choice.
  11. Never got a straight answer regarding this opinion. Is there something to it or just coincidence? Later posted this but no one discussed it in the amateur thread... I think you're on to something, especially for starters with the workload they typically have. I have to wonder if Rosenthal from the Cards isn't about to hit the DL after his amount of usage last year and a significant velo drop this year.
  12. Born: November 1, 1988 in Itami, Hyogo, Japan (Age 25.206) Born: January 23, 1985 in Merrillville, IN (Age 29.123) 1213 professional innings in Japan for Tanaka 1042 professional innings for Shark Why wouldn't that matter to you? His arm has basically the same mileage. Because regardless of mileage, age is still a factor. He will no doubt be effective later than many pitchers are, but age will still catch up to him. I still say pay him, but you can't completely ignore the age.
  13. That was crushed. Also, give Shark whatever the hell he wants. He's damn good.
  14. Man, I thought Soriano on fire was about as ridiculous as it got. Javy may have him topped.

  16. Five Guys all the way for me. not a big fan fries are ok though I've had to spend an awful lot of time in South Carolina recently and there's an expanding chain called Cookout that may be my new favorite actually. I'd rather go somewhere and get an actual good burger than one of these tiny burger over priced crap holes you guys like. And yes, I've had them.
  17. I can nearly guarantee I will cry like a baby when/if the Cubs finally win one. And yes, I want that far more than any other of my teams to win a championship and I don't think it's particularly close.
  18. Can we just trade out Barney's hamstring for Soler's so he can be on the DL and Soler can play? I'm so tired of seeing him in the lineup.
  19. Well that's just patently untrue. He's a horrible human being, but he's not a loser.
  20. Neither one of us has Dusty PTSD or anything at least.......
  21. Ha! I remember that but don't recall what it's from.
  22. Unexpected contributions from Baker and Schierholtz, who I think has looked a little more comfortable at the plate the last several games.
