  1. I'm starting to hate replay. These idiots have no idea what they're doing. Edit: Or not.
  2. Meh, he's one bad game against the Sox from having his ERA at 3.71. I'm not real concerned.
  3. Meh, the guy standing there has to be really tall for that to be much more than a 36" vertical. Not that that's anything to sneeze at.
  4. By this logic a player should get a hit when the defense makes an error.
  5. I had that exact thought as soon as I saw your chart. That's an amazingly difficult feat to accomplish over that many PA without anything close to regression to the mean.
  6. I posted this in another thread the other day and davell mentioned a similar thing earlier too: I heard an interesting interview with Tommy John the other day. He theorizes that there's more pitcher injuries now because these kids don't get the down time to let their arms recover in the off season because they're essentially playing year round. I hadn't heard that particular theory before and coming from a running background, it completely makes sense. I've seen a ton of runners ramp back up too quickly after a marathon and end up injured when if they had taken a month or two and just done some low, easy mileage they more than likely would have avoided any issues. With all the fall ball and summer leagues, these guys just don't get enough of a break
  7. That's deceptive. It won't hit Busch for at least another 45 minutes or so, if not an hour.
  8. Still one game better than the worst record in baseball. and we're about to get swept by the cardinals. this is gonna be rough. No, I go to at least one game here every year and I haven't seen a Cubs loss in several years. I'm going Wednesday so we should take that one to avoid the sweep.
  9. I had the same question. It isn't even listed at all in my DirecTV guide. Yeah, it had some dumb show I wouldn't ever watch listed. Had to go to Yahoo sports to find it.

  11. So, is he young Maddux minus 3-4 mph on his FB? I know people always make that comparison even though Maddux threw a decent amount harder, but there isn't really an effective guy that comes to mind. Maybe right handed Ted Lilly?
  12. Especially when you can get a physical guy like this who's willing to stick his nose in there and make tackles. I would have been fine with Pryor or HaHa, but this is a really solid pick at a position that, at a minimum, was going to have to be upgraded next off season without question and is probably a need this season because of injury history on Peanut and Jennings.

    Rizzo

all players do that, every great hitter has those days. where the hell did you dig this up from? Probably the day after Liriano.
  14. I think they'd have been better off short term with one of the other OT since Robinson will need some development time. Kinda pissed they took Donald and that's going to be a scary DL. What did you want them to do? Watkins would have been a great guy to have, but I don't think there was any way Fisher was going to do that.
  15. 7 BB in his last 38 PA. 13 K and a .167/.368/.267/.635 line, but baby steps. I almost wonder if they're doing with him right now in AAA what they did with Castro last year to get it out of the way while it doesn't matter.
  16. Pats? They have Mallet already they spent a kind of high pick on.
  17. Tough throwing against them to WRs with him and Haden.
  18. Reports have them enameled with Manziel. I know this is an autocorrect, but it kinda made me laugh.
  19. Their OL was soooo bad last year you'd think they have to do that.
  20. First time anybody's said that in a while. Agreed, lots of ways to screw that up but they certainly don't appear to have done it this time.
  21. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of taking him there. Too many other options. Gotta believe they couldn't get anything decent for the pick or they would have moved out and gotten another tackle later in the top 10.
  22. The chatter on sports radio today was that at some banquet last night Fisher said Bradford was the guy with him sitting right there. It would be a huge shock if they took Manziel at any spot.
  23. Depending on what we're looking to get for Shark, I don't hate this idea. He's the one who could potentially be up nearly immediately right?
  24. I noticed he was at a K/IP. 2.5/9 is a pretty solid BB rate isn't it?
