  1. Isn't the Cell one of the easiest parks to homer in? I'd say the White Sox would have been much better off with Lee. They'd probably have a better chance of going deep in the playoffs if they had Lee in LF rather than Podsednik. Iguchi is capable of leading off. I disagree Posednik has been the key to the team in my opinion and the team has really started to slide since he has been hurt. Pitching has obviously carried them, but Posednik is the type of player that Guillen loves and I think he has helped their team more then Lee would have.
  2. I dont think it was all about money, the White Sox needed a leadoff type hitter that could steal some bases and the Brewers needed a big bat so the trade worked out well for both teams. They both got what they wanted out of the trade.
  3. Zito is not getting traded in the offseason why would they move him they have to spend some payroll and hes the perfect guy to keep with Chavez. Him and Harden is one of the top duos in the game right now why break that up.
  4. Not a chance that Pittsburgh moves Perez, he is young and cheap and put him together with Duke and you have a good young 1-2 punch. There is not a chance they move him unless you extremely overpay for him.
  5. Yes, I also dated his sister. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6235153 The concept of a player who goes to multiple teams can be what they call being caught in a numbers game. There's one instance, everything I recall from Sanders is that he has been an ideal teammate throughout his career, despite playing on several teams. Every team Sanders has been on has liked him, the Cardinals all say that he is one of the clubhouse leaders and one of the nicest guys on the league. Im not really sure why he has bounced around to so many teams, but it has nothing to do with his peronality, or for that fact his skills because he has produced fairly well whereever he has gone.
  6. The thing I find interesting about that article is that Jeter has had one of the biggers VORP drops in history. How can that be ESPN told me he was the greatest SS of all time those stats must be wrong.
  7. I dont know that much about the prospects but i voted for Randy Wells because i went to the same high school as him.
  8. I know alot of people on here wont like the suggestion, but i think that trading walker may be a good move. The twins have been looking for a 2b all season and they have some good prospects, if the Cubs could get some good prospects for him i think they should consider moving him.
  9. Okay, so then nothing comes of it. Nothing hurt on the Cubs end. Oh i agree it wouldnt hurt for the cubs to put a waiver request in to at least block a trade to other teams and if by some reason the pads were dumb enough to just let him walk it would be good for the cubs.
  10. San Diego is in first place there is no way they would let Giles just walk without getting something back in return. No GM is that dumb, the fans would be mad if they traded him but if they just let him go they should burn down the stadium because that would be the worst move in the history of baseball.
  11. They still have a poor outfield. If they want him, getting him and offering arbitration could be a good way to get something if they don't sign him on the open market. Yeah but the Pads would want at least one good prospect for him and it would make no sense for the cubs to give up a prospect for him just for a rental when they are out of the race.
  12. There is no way that Cpatt, Hill, and Hairston gets Zito. First of all they have a ton of young arms that are much better then Hill, they dont really need OF's and if they did need one they would look for a power bat. Patterson is so far from the type of player the Beane gets that there is no way they would go after him. Look at what the Cards gave up, Haren, Barton, and Calero is a way better package. There is no way they could get Zito it would take at least the other Patterson or Dop or Harvey in the package to get Zito.
  13. No im not saying that all im saying is that every thread in here turns into the exact same argument so why not just stick to the same thread.
  14. Apperently ever thread in this section about the Cardnials is gonna turn into an argument about the Cards overachieving and is gonna involve K-town arguing with cubs fans. Cant we just start a Ktown thread where all the cubs fans can attack him and he can aruge with you guys because every thread in here ends up that way.
  15. Yeah that way that sounded when they showed the replay his hand has to be broken it sounded awful full speed.
  16. Maybe if the kid learns to take a walk (12 walks and 105 strikeouts in 387 at-bats). His lack of discipline would cause him to be eaten alive at the Major League level, I would think. Hasnt seemed to hurt Franceour. Now obviously he is nowhere near as good as Franceour but why not give him a shot for a week or 2 and see what he can do and see if he is a decent prospect.
  17. If grudz is put on the DL i think we should give Aaron Herr a shot, he has pretty good numbers at AA might as well see what he can do now while the games arent really that important. Then get Grudz back for the playoffs.
  18. I dont think that they should contract the marlins, but they should move it to another market. The city wont get them a new staduim, no fans show up even when they are good. This is a perfect team to move to a new market.
  19. yeah he used alot of guys in the last inning and he has Beneitez back I dont know why he didnt use him.
  20. Edmond with the double to score 2 and win the game 5-4.
  21. In a game that means nothing the Royals are losing and maybe on their way to a 19th straight lose.
  22. 5 of those earned runs were given to Clemens.
  23. I dont see how you can say Houston should have won, your excuse that the Cards didnt win any in houston works the other way and Houston didnt win any in St. Louis. Also they had their ace Clemens going in game 7. So the cards beat their ace to win. How exactley did they deserve to win.
  24. His only win during the day was the 10 inning shutout, imagine what his numbers are in the day withoug that game.
  25. The Cardinals have one of the lowest rated farm systems in baseball, especially in terms of position players. Who have you seen in their system have you seen that can be big league ready within the next few years?
