  1. I dont know much about the minor leagues or prospects, but with all the talk in the proposed trade for Dunn. I would have thought that Hill was ranked higher then 100.
  2. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/story.asp?sport=MLB&storyid=14274 Here is a list of top 150 prospects, highest cubs is Pie at 18. Cubs have 7 on the list but most of those are in the last 50 including Hill. Cards have 3 pitchers on the list with Reyes in at 37 and Wainright at 61.
  3. I dont think that he is going to be traded, because they have already come out and said they are going to raise payrole alot next year so if they are goint to raise the payrole why trade Wells, keep him and put some talent around him.
  4. Prior is a stud theres no doubt about it, but Peavy is just as young and has already led the league in ERA. Like someone said you cant go wrong with any of the four, they are all studs.
  5. Out of those two I would take Prior based on his age. However there are a few other young pitchers like Peavy, Santana, and Harden I would take over Prior.
  6. I would say its because they have a big enough lead in the division, and enough offense around him that they can let Rolen try to play his way back into shape before the playoffs.
  7. Yeah but molinas is retroactive to the 9th, so he is only out till the 22nd, and they think he should be ready by then so he will only be out another 4 or 5 days probably.
  8. I wouldnt say the red sox are a lock for the playoffs, they are only up a half game on the yankees. There is no gurantee the wild card will come out of the east either.
  9. Dont have a link but they just said on the news down hear hareline fracture of the fibula out 4 to 6. Looks like they made need to make a move for another outfielder.
  10. Saw on one rumor website, where the reds asked the indians for CC Sabathia in a deal for dunn. So looks like if they are going to trade him they want an awful lot.
  11. I would guess they may use Marquis he has pinch hit in spots like this before, and he is a pretty good hitter.
  12. rolen does not look good at this point, he hasnt made solid contact in a long time. looks like he is still having problems with the shoulder.
  13. yeah but harden didnt get it, so if Zito gets it that would one up him
  14. Zito trying to one up Harden, he has a no-hitter through 6
  15. I agree that the Cards probably gave up to much for Mulder, especially when you look at what the braves gave for Hudson. But the Cardinals got Mulder for one reason and that is to help them win in the playoffs. If he goes out and has a great playoffs and wins a world series, I dont think any cardinals fan will think they overpaid for him then.
  16. Cards fans hate Zambrano as much as you guys hate edmonds, because of that incident a few years ago where he hit edmonds after jim hit a hr the previous at bat.
  17. I know this might be shocking, but other gms have a job and its not to make the cubs better. There is no way that bowden woudl even consider wilkerson for patterson, no matter what other stupid moves he made. Pattersons trade value is at its lowest right now, and theres no way a team in contention is gonna trade wilkerson for a guy in the minor leagues who plays the same position.
  18. Sure every cubs fan would do this deal, but the nationals would laugh anyone who brought this up out of the room, They are in first place why would they trade there leadoff hitter for a guy that just got demoted to AAA.
  19. Clemens is clearly the better choice over Carpenter, but Willis has almost the exact same number as Carpenter, but on big exception. He got lit up a few times over the past few weeks, where Carpenter has been lights out over the past month and a half. So Clemens is the obvous choice, but i dont see you people can blame him for picking carp over Dontrelle.
  20. I think that if the yankees are gonna give up there top prospects there gonna want someone better then corey patterson, even if you throw in walker. If there gonna trade there top prospects there gonna go get a pitcher like schmidt or zito.
  21. Ensberg coming in for Lee, I would assume that Lopez will go in for Ramirez, because he can play third as well as short.
  22. Yeah they are awful, and how big a nerd did Piazza look up there on stage.
  23. Just put the batting practice pitcher in a cubs jersey and im sure Carlos Lee will win, he seems to kill cubs pitching every other time.
  24. On another allstar topic, Lee and pujols are the only first baseman. Do you guys think that they will both play all 9 innings? Or if they will put another position player in for Lee at some point?
  25. I am a cardinals fan, and I will admit that Clemens is the best pitcher in the league so far. But I also dont see a problem with Larussa picking Carpenter. There is nothign wrong with showing loyalty to your own guy, plus Clemens started last year. So even though Clemens is more deserving, there is nothing wrong with giving a guy having a career year his chance to start an allstar game.
