  1. Yeah your right, he is defintley ahead of Soriano in the East.
  2. Someone in the Central thread said we should do a East and West team as well. so i will start the East one. C-LoDuca 1b-Delgato 2b-Utley SS-Rollins 3b-Wright OF-Cabrera, Andrew Jones,Abreu SP-Pedro, Willis, Smoltz,Hudson, Livan BP-Billy Wagner, Cordero, Tom Gordon West C-I guess Matheny 1b-Helton 2b-Kent ss- Furcal 3b-Atkins OF-Bonds, Giles, Greem SP- Peavy,Webb, Schmidt, Lowe, Lowery BP- Hoffman, Gagne, Benitez After looking at these divisions, its pretty easy to see that most of the National Leagues talent resides in the NL Central and by a pretty large margin.
  3. You value Aramis more than DLee? I would he's younger, and it is much easier to find a 1st baseman that puts up numbers closer to Lee then it is to find a 3rd baseman that can put up Ramirez type numbers.
  4. Pujols, definetly. ARod, Manny Ramirez...I'll tell my kid about Sosa, too. Johan Santana. I think Pujols,Arod, Manny, and i think Miguel Cabrera will eventually be talked about as all time greats.
  5. I also dont get the Berkman over Edmonds, they had pretty much the same amount of at bats and Edmonds outslugged him, had more HR's, more Rbis. Berkman out hit him and had a higher on base percentage. But not big enough to make up for Edmonds edge in power numbers and defense.
  6. How hard is it for the Illini defenders to realize that you cant leave Horton alone for wide open 3's.
  7. C-Molina 1b-Pujols 2b-Walker SS-Lopez 3b-Ramirez Of- Bay, Lee, Edmonds SP- Carp, Z, Pettite, Prior, Duke BP- Izzy, Lidge, Gonzalez
  8. Except for the fact that Zambrano is already better than Buehrle and that he didn't pick a #5. Buehrle vs Zambrano is up to debate. The difference in leagues can skew some of those numbers. You're right. Buerhle has pitched in what over the last few years has been the worst division in baseball. That really needs to be taken into account and held against him. I dont know the stats so if i am wrong i apolozige, but It seems as if The Cell has also been a better hitters park the last few years then Wrigley. I think Zambrano is a little better but they are very very close and its not that absurd for anyone to say they would take Buherle.
  9. I dont think either of those guys are undervalued by their teams, mine would be 1. Walker 2. Javier Valentin 3. Jody Gerut- I think he will have a good year this year.
  10. Do you really think that you can make fun of sox fans for only caring about what the cubs do, when your first post is a page long making fun of the white sox?
  11. They're all very Cub-like moves. Hope for the best, and have no real plan B. All the guys they signed are high risk, high reward (with the exception of Overbay who's pretty solid. If it works out for them, I would love it just to keep Boston and NY down for a year or two. I agree - right down to Overbay who is solid but fairly mediocre. I agree that they are all high risk moves, but when your competing with New York and Boston they pretty much have to try to make moves like the ones they have made. There not gonna have that much success luring a ton of free agents to Toronto unless they overpay which they did.
  12. If you need anymore Cards fans I am in let me know.
  13. I would like that vera much. Texas 80 Mizzou 50 I think this one is much more likely.
  14. I say WV by 13.
  15. Bo Ryan maybe the biggest crybaby that I have ever seen, and this is in a game where his team has been called for less fouls then the Illini.
  16. This game really turned when Augustine came back in Wisconsin hasnt scored much and it got Carter out of the game. Plus it gave them a rebounding presence on the inside.
  17. There is no reason that Randal shouldnt be scoring more then 8 points a game, its halfs like these that make him so frustrating. He has so much athletic talent but never puts it together for long periods of time
  18. No. Only two other teams besides Pittsburgh and Carolina have even won two road games in a row in the playoffs (95 Colts and 96 Jags). Guess what? TWO teams are winning three games in a row and going to the Super Bowl this year. Pittsburgh will beat Denver 17-14. I thought that New England won three in a row on the road in 85 to get blown out by the bears in the Super Bowl.
  19. Len what are your opinions on the offseason moves of the NL Central teams? Clearly none of them did all that much so I was wondering how you saw the division playing out this year?
  20. He actually was pretty good last year against righties, and with Larussas use of bullpen guys and mixing and matching them. I think there is a chance he could have a pretty solid season. His era last year against righties was under 2.00 and he gave up only 1 home run and 19 hits too righties. He has a 1.34 whip and righties only slugged .247 last year against him. If he is used the right way he can still be an effective reliever.
  21. Its on the main page of MLB.com
  22. sorry this was suppose to be in the game thread. must have hit the new topic button.
  23. if he had just made that field goal that is all they would need right now.
  24. two words for you: Scott Kazmir Any GM that can get absolutely fleeced like that doesn't deserve the job. Hendry is a moran, but I'd still rather have him than Phillips (i'm sure you were just kidding about that :D ). I may be wrong but i dont think that Phillips was the one who traded Kazmir, wasnt it his replacement?
  25. I am not sayin that they didnt catch a few breaks, the ball in the dirt and dye not really getting hit. But they also took advantage of both of those breaks and won the games. Lots of teams would not have scored in either of those situations. They are playing good ball right now, and would have won it all without those breaks is lal i am saying. I understand your hatred for them and i would hate them too if i was a cubs fan. All i am saying is that they have clearly been the best team in the playoffs so far.
