    how are the fatties though? I think that depends on the development of Barron. They still have Pace, and young guys like Incogneto and Setterstrom stepped in and did good last year. Barron still takes a ton of Falst start penalties, if he can work on that I think they will have a decent O-Line. Not one of the best in the league but adequate.

    Wow this could really end up changing the draft if they choose not to pick AP and end up taking someone like Johnson or Quinn instead.

    No one is throwing more than 3 plus innings yet. It doesnt surprise me that Looper will be decent this year. Typical scrap heap cardinals. Regardless, him pitching well for 2-3 innings at a time doesn't convince me that he'll be a good starter. Let's wait and see how he does throwing 6-7 innings at a time when he's worked up to it. I agree, his stamina and his ability to go 6 or 7 inning will determine if he gets the 5th starter job. I am just happy that he is pitching well so far.

    Not really in your first spring training start u dont usually go over 2 or 3 innings. I still think it is a long shot that he is good as a starter, but I do believe that if he keeps pitching well the 5th spot is his to lose.

    I know it is early and he has only pitched twice, but he has only given up 1 run in 6 innings as a starter. He was quite impressive today not giving up any runs in 3.1 innings with a strong wind blowing out. Heck the wind even helped Skip Schumaker hit 2 home runs it has to be a hell of a wind for that.

    The 81 HR allowed in 3 years is not a particularly good peripheral. Marquis might consider it good, as it would be an improvement over his last 3 years. Actually it wouldn't be, my math was wrong and Vasquez gave up 91 HR in the past 3 years. Well then they are pretty much even. I think I would rather have Marquis though. Yeah he was terrible last year, but he was actually one of the Cardinals more reliable starters the previous 2 years. He will never be great, but I see no reason why he cant get back to a 4.35-4.50 era with the Cubs.

    I think that this is becoming much more likely with the LB they were going after Banta-Cain singing with the Niners. If they could get Willis in the 1st and and a NT in the second their D could be improved. As much as I like Willis though if Landry is there at 13 I think there is a good chance they could end up taking him.

    I think Seattle is gonna be very unimpressed with Kerney. He reminds me alot of Wistrom. A small high energy guy, and Wistrom didnt workout to well for Seattle.

    There is 10 teams in the league. The only thing I am worried about is the lack of SB's with only Roberts and Sizemore having over 20 last year.

    It looks like the Rams are clost to signing Bennett, which would be a good replacement for Curtis. Have you heard anything down there in Tennessee about Bennett being close to signing?

    Not real big news but the Rams traded a 5th rounder to Detroit for DE James Hall. If he is healty he can be productive. He had 5 sacks in 7 games last year and 11.5 a few years ago.

    I dont have a link, but I read that U of I player Jamar Smith was charged with Felony Dui and leaving the scene of an accident in his accident last week.

    Bashing someone for not taking a hometown discount is dumb. This is a business, just cause some players do it doesnt mean all will. Plus I am willing to bet if Z got hurt this year the Cubs wouldnt be willing to give him 15 million next year where is their loyalty to a guy who has been a workhorse for them over the last 3 years. Also Z asking for Zito money is actually quite fair considering he could get more on the free agent market. So he really is taking a hometown dicount money wise. He is just not willing to take it down as much as Aram did. He shouldnt get bashed for that.

    Nope, that's my goal for the Grizzlies already. Especially if Pao insists on being traded. Well u guys are out of luck, cause I dont see anyone beating out Boston for the worst record. They are just flat out terrible.

    Willis is the guy I really want the rams to draft at 13. I am hoping they sign some defensive lineman and draft him. There LB core would be unbelievable with Witherspoon, Pisa, and Willis.

    Question for bears fans. Would you give up your first round pick for Schwab? I think the he could turn out to be a very good player, but I am not sure I would give a 1st rounder for him.
