Well Porto scores again to make it 2-0. Hopefully Liverpool can draw Sevilla or Chelsea as those are the 2 weakest group winners.

Hopefully Besiktas can get a goal and tie Porto so Liverpool can win this group and aviod one of the top teams.

Yeah but I dont think that Besiktas will win at Porto today so they need a win. They are off to a great start so far they are dominating this game.

I think that alot of GMs think that tejada is going to be in the Mitchell report and that mixed with the face that the O's didnt want to pick up any of the contract and that really hurt what the O's could get for him. I would assume the astros would pick up the entire contract with that offer.

After looking around a little bit more about Barton, I am very happy with the pick. He looks like if he is healthy he could easily be as good next season as Schumaker as a 4th or 5th OF.

Does anyone have any information on Barton. I know that he is an OF and was a BA top 100 prospect at one time. But what are the scouting reports on him? Who does he compare to? Does he have a good shot at staying on the roster all year?

Capuano straight up for Rolen is a good deal for the Cards. That'd be robbery. Yeah hopefully Mo gets over the not trading him in the division. I would be very happy if the prospect was Gamel or Escobar their shortstop.

According to Stark the talks have cooled off cause the Cards dont want to trade him in the division. But Stark said the deal was Capuano and a top prospect and the Brewers would have picked up all of the contract. Without knowing who the prospect is that seems like as good a deal as the cards could get for Rolen.

The brewcrew have requested Rolen's medical records and there has been alot of talk about Rolen for Capuano. I hope that if that is the deal we are not paying very much money to the Brewers.

If the Rangers took on all of the money I would be ok with this deal. But isnt Blalock coming off of a similar shoulder injury that kind of worries me. But if they took on all the money then the Cards spent it on another OF bat I would be ok with it.

Blues put a pretty good working on the Hawks last night. Gettting Toivonen and Boyes from Boston has worked out great so far for them. they look like a playoff team and with the way the young guys like Wagner, Perron, and EJ have played and throw in Oshie on his way next year they should be for a while.

I really dont have a huge problem with this deal. The Cards dont have the young talent to get Tejada and there are really no other SS out there. I would much rather have Izturis for a year then Eckstein for 3 years.

I thought about saying Gerrard, but while he is still playing at a very high level he is getting up there in age some and he did say 2010.

I would also consider a good centerback like Terry or someone like that. Then I would go with a good striker like Rooney. Robhino would be awesome to watch as well.

I think that the Angels got Garland so that they could include one or two of Weaver,Santana, or Saunders in a trade for Cabrera.

Weis has two top 10 recruiting classes already and the no. 1 ranked class for 2008. Ty had one top 10 class out of three and his last two were the two worst in ND history. Weis has shown a willingness to change assistant coaches when they show they aren't capable. Ty refused to fire Kent Baer, his defensive coordinator, no matter how absurdly bad the defense was. Ty didn't play Jeff Samardzija for two years. He played Ryan Grant over Julius Jones in 2003 - Grant infamously had more carries than Jones in the Pitt game where Jones broke the ND record for rushing yards in a game. Weis has eight more years on his contract, so firing him would be financially irresponsible. (Stupid to give him the extension in the first place, I know.) By the way, where's the bellyaching about Florida firing Ron Zook 2.5 years into his contract, with a better record than Willingham? Oh, Zook is white and Florida is currently winning so that makes it ok. Florida has been good since Urban Meyer took over and they never had a good year under Zook. Keep in mind, they won a national championship under Meyer. Weis has, granted, had less talent but hasn't won even a BCS bowl game. I'm not supporting Weis being fired, just that the comparison with Meyer is completely invalid. Also, Zook was the sacrificial lamb for a legend. Whoever followed Spurrier had to be just as successful or he would have been fired. That's how it goes following a legend, fair or not. Are you trying to say that Bob Davie isnt a legend?
