  1. With a make-up game as part of a DH, there's 5 games in New Orleans the end of July. Hell yes.
  2. September call up for KB possible now?
  3. http://reneessance.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/worship_me1.gif
  4. Can this possibly stand up to appeal? I'm no lawyer of course, but it seems to be an odd way to go about this.
  5. Of all the amazing stats on him I've heard today, this might be the most amazing. At the end of his career, he could have gone 0 for 1,199 and still have been a career .300 hitter. In other words, 0fer for two years.
  6. The talking heads say he is our 2nd best scorer, fwiw.
  7. Or, Rogers Hornsby followed by the dead Confederate soldier signifies an era that has passed, an era where whities were our national treasures. That soldier is dead, and that day is gone, defeated by a game starring lazy brown guys. Nailed it.
  8. I assumed it was because you were a were primarily a baseball purist with a nostalgic sense of history, but also a closet racist who doesn't like soccer because of all the lazy brown skinned guys. this is all obviously true, but how do you explain the executed civil war soldier? In wolf's mind it no doubt was meant to signify the death of America due to soccer fanatics. This World Cup is the firing squad and the soldier with his face shot off is supposed to signify the Nation's agonizing death as soccer slowly creeps up and snatches us to hell with its icy death grip. It's the sense of history, but clearly it demonstrates your hatred of all things lazy ethnic groups, like soccer.

  10. If he went to the Spurs he would rightly or wrongly (rightly) be considered one of the worst sellouts in sports. He already did that when he went to the Heat. It won't surprise anyone AGAIN if LeBron just goes to another good team so he can win instead of getting guys to come to play with him. Not a surprise maybe, but he'll be raked over the coals with fans and media. He's one of the best but that's just one of the little things that keeps him a notch below the GOATS in my mind. That, and he has thrown in the towel a few times in his career.

  12. Congrats guys. Wish we were there with you in Omaha. :|
  13. It does take a little out of the horse to run 3 races like that in a 6 week span, but more to the point, it's the type of horses jumping into these races. In the old days, there a few mega stables that put horses into the TC races. The smaller stables deferred to them, for lack of a better word, and didn't clutter the field with mediocre horses. Now that's changed, and you see all kinds of horses in the Bellmont, like the one who stepped on CC's hoof and damaged it in the backstretch. Not saying that's why he lost, but it is a change that may contribute to the long Triple Crown drought. More mediocre horses cluttering the field means more variables to fail to win the TC. All this is a moot point, because there's no way that the Bellmont is going to listen to Churchill or the Preakness or anyone else on who they put on their race card.
  14. Ole Miss very well might be the better team but it's a short series and anything can happen. I mean, Fresno State won it all in 2008. Indeed. Judging by overall talent I don't think there can be any doubt that Ole Miss is the more talented team. I'd have to think that any SEC team has more talent than even the best Sun Belt team. But alas, it's baseball. Apparently this is the only Super Regional matchup where both teams were regional host teams. I really want to go down there for the weekend, but Ole Miss is only getting 400 tickets and the University doles those out according to priority donor points and all that. So I certainly won't be getting one of those. Ooh La La, or ULL if you're no fun, is 1-0 vs LSU and 2-1 vs Bama this year. They are definitely good enough to take 2 of 3 vs OM.
  15. Totally agree. On a side note, Mark Jackson is a babbling idiot. He makes Shaq sound like Christopher Hithcens.
  16. I'm about 60/40% NO right now on Renteria. He's played a little too much small ball for my taste in some situations, plus I do not care for the batting order most days. Yesterday notwithstanding, Lake should never be batting 2nd if Valbuena is playing, or ever for that matter.
  17. No one could be offering what I'd want for him right now.
  18. In all seriousness, what do they do with Olt? DFA? It's getting to an embarrassing level now.
  19. Nice. I was thinking the exact same thing.
  20. Ugh, bat Valbuena 2nd and bat Lake 5th for god's sake. WTF? Also, Casey McGehee still has a job?
  21. Didn't the AC breakdown in the middle of the game? Thought it was before. It was up to 90 by the end, when the Boston Garden used to be a freaking oven.
  22. Jeff Van Gundy kept harping on that they should have postponed the game. I'm not buying that. You play.
  23. Also the White Sox are a bit over .500. Please tell me the Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox are all battling for last place. Red Sox had a 10-game losing streak, but they aren't in last because now Tampa Bay is on a 10-game loser of their own. Yankees and Dodgers are both a game over .500. The Blue Jays and Orioles are battling for first place? Madness. Awesomeness. [expletive] the Yankees and Red Sox.
