  1. Yeah, but the big difference there being that Ochocinco was already a veteran rather than some fringey draftee just out of college trying to make it in the league.
  2. Very true. I am sure they'd rather their 7th round pick just become a football player and thinking about the playbook once camp begins instead of thinking about the cameras. The veterans on that team are sure to hate that.
  3. Who's Tim Tebow? I've never heard any media ever say anything about him.
  4. That's...not good. Especially if the Rams didn't know about this when they drafted him. Forget the gay thing, he already is going to be a target in training camp for being such a high profile 7th rounder. Now this? I applaud the Rams for picking Sam, but if he becomes a prima donna they are going to find themselves in a tough position. On a related note, I have heard a few times that he was not the greatest teammate at Mizzou but haven't heard any details. Anyone know anything to this?
  5. Also appropriate in this thread... http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--92bqQzLZ--/c_fit,w_320/703948220587546539.gif
  6. Just saw the replays of this and that gif. That looks like he clearly got his hand and knocked it off the ball.
  7. Jersey, your sig literally had me choking on my coffee. Holy crap that's awesome.
  8. This is absolutely must see TV. I am so glad I set my DVR tonight for this.
  9. Not going to muck up the draft thread anymore, but...riiiight. :good:
  10. Yeah, driving throughout the country, I was blown away by the culturally progressive Mecca that is the American Midwest. better to be a wide expanse of boring nothing and whitebread than to be the south. I assume you're referring to the rural Midwest. I was speaking more to the point that intolerance does in fact exist north of the Mason-Dixon line, but I'll take my food, diversity and culture too, thanks.

  12. HAHAHAHA! Trey Wingo, Kiper and the other talking heads were clearly uncomfortable and weren't quite sure what to say when they showed Sam kissing his BF after being selected.
  13. Wow. ESPN has a reporter and live look-ins at a "gay sports bar" waiting on Sam to be selected. It's cringe worthy. Wait, he was just selected and of course, they quickly go to a live shot of gay sports fans clapping in said bar. The worst.
  14. Aaron Murray>>Mettenberger>>>>>McCarron. Mettenberger has the big arm but that's about it. He seems to have the Ryan Mallett issues--big arm but too many boneheaded mistakes. I can see Murray having a nice NFL career. McCarron's ceiling has to be Andy Dalton, which isn't anything special.
  15. Saints quietly had a very nice draft. Cooks at WR could be a total badass and hopefully brings some explosiveness back to the offense. Hopefully the CB Jean-Baptiste is everything they are saying he is. In the later rounds they took some chances on really high upside guys who's stock fell after knee injuries but who appear to now be healthy. Local radio is gushing over the potential of the LB Ronald Powell from FLA. He was the top recruit in the country coming out of HS but was slowed by injuries.
  16. The friends and family in attendence at Zephyr field (most of whom Cubs fans) noticed the no-no. First one I've ever witnessed at any level. It's the first time I've seen Baez in person but he might be the biggest 2nd baseman in MLB when he comes up.
  17. Kevin Durant's acceptance speech tonight. If you don't cry like a little girl around the 5:00 mark when he starts talking about his mom then you have no soul. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjFOmsJWJfI
  18. Short of playing .667 until the deadline, or God forbid he gets hurt ala Garza, does anyone even think there's a chance? Seriously every time I've heard him speak in the last year, he's sounded like he's decided he's out.
  19. He has to be promoted to Iowa, because then I'll get to see Javy hit cleanup for him for the next 4 days.
  20. =D> Thank you for that. This is the argument I've been using to talk others (and myself for that matter) off the ledge.
  21. Dammit, I have to be at work tonight but I get to go the the Iowa/Zephyrs games the rest of the week. First pitch 11 am tomorrow?!?
  22. Strongly considering a drinking game tonight with the mentioning of goats, Bartman, Lou Brock or Leon Durham. Good thing I can sleep in on Monday. Oooooh, this might be an idea I can get behind. But I'd add if they show any graphic displaying how many things have been invented since 1908. Onto something here. Also candidates are mentioning the things going on in 1908 like the POTUS, prices of gas or other goods, or also any mention of the sinking of the Titanic, a favorite go to for ESPN producers during Cubs games.

  24. His slider was nasty and batters were missing it by a foot. I saw maybe 3 Cards make solid contact today.
  25. Loving some Neil Ramirez. If Vizcaino can make his way to Chicago this bullpen could be nasty.
