  1. And even Almora had 3 hits. Schwarber just doubled for his 4th hit tonight. http://i.imgur.com/VjK2jKW.gif
  2. Junior Lake leading off again? I take back any optimism I may have had.
  3. Anxious to watch today. It would be nice to finish this month on a high note and cap off what has been a good couple of weeks for the organization.
  4. http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/rRLSNeKcY5Q/hqdefault.jpg
  5. I love the aerial shots that WGN is using this year. Chicago really is a beautiful city. Couldn't deal with the winters, but man I love that place.
  6. I guess that's good news. So is he part cyborg now?
  7. I think you meant "profoundly erotic." The response to both of those posts is "yes".
  8. Wonder if he's the one who gets called up for Lake, if Lake goes to the DL replaces Lake
  9. Odd way of putting that. It's like saying that Kris Bryant is like Josh Vitters except he is good at baseball. How was Jim Belushi ever a thing as long as he was? According to Jim and everything else he has ever done are just wretched. It can't just be his last name. most people are stupid that said, it reminds me of something else. i don't know anybody that likes joe buck. not a single person. yet fox employs him as their lead sports guy to do like everything. WHY? there are other guys out there like this, too. were there people who actually liked joe morgan when he was doing the espn broadcasts for so many years? Yes. Joe Morgan loved Joe Morgan. I'll never forget back when Olberman used to sit in occasionally on Dan Patrick's old ESPN radio show and they had Joe Buck on during the WS. KO just railed on Buck on live radio, making fun of him having to announce all the Fox TV show "stars" that were in the seats at the games. "Plan on giving a shout out to the stars of Jailbreak while Jeter is at bat tonight Joe?" In short, Joe Buck was clearly pissed and Dan Patrick just sat silent and let it go. The tension was thick.

  11. Here's a fun fact: For the Cubs, 4 of the 9 guys in the starting lineup tonight will be hitting under the Mendoza line, and a 5th is hitting .204.
  12. With the lack of choices on this current roster, Valbuena should be batting 1 or 2 every night, cold streak be damned.
  13. Would Reed Johnson be a good comp for Hannemann?
  14. Clearly our strategy is to sneak up on the Reds by putting awful OBP guys at the top of the lineup. The old Soriano leadoff strategy...they'll never suspect that one.
  15. Not that I thought he was great by any stretch, but I thought Ronny Cedeno was better than that.
  16. he looks like the big giant drunk party animal that also is totally nice and polite to everyone. I thought we were wanting more douchebags on our team?
  17. If the NCAA had any heart they would allow him to remain on scholarship at Baylor until he gets his degree.
  18. Also Candy Maldonado, considering he was a LF and brought in for his bat. 70 games with the Cubs: .186/.260/.286/.545 3 HR 15 RBI
  19. Sup? http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/365/935/hundley_display_image.jpg?1283012247 In 2001 Hundley went .187/.268/.372/.642 My least favorite Cub ever. His [expletive] attitude makes him worse.
  20. I think I already will be but that would take it to another stratosphere. Just for fun, standing pat: 1. Valbuena 3B 2. Rizzo 1B 3. Castro SS 4. Bryant RF 5. Baez 2B 6. Alcantara CF 7. Castillo C 8. Ruggiano, Sweeney, whoever LF If we assume that our prospects don't completely poop the bed, then I don't hate our lineup next year. It's the rotation that worries me. Playing the standing pat game again, our current rotation with maybe a Jackson swap for a stretched out Ramirez and this is a pretty interesting team. And then there's our already insane bullpen. Make N Ramirez the 5th starter and skip him in the rotation where you can. He can also get some shorter outings because of our ridiculous bullpen. Profit.

  22. Actually, you nailed it. That's why I'm watching at least as much as the winning. Now we can realistically start to see how our future pieces might fit around these guys. I don't even want to think about how we'd feel right now if they were sucking.
  23. Um, don't look now but I am actually excited every day to watch Cubs baseball. If Alcantara were up it would be must see TV.
