  1. And that is why you never pick up your dribble a foot in front of the backcourt.
  2. Northwestern just advanced to the third round of the NIT, which marks the best Northwestern has ever done in the postseason.
  3. Well, at least they'll get a shot at one of the best 3 teams in the tournament this year. Plus, it's not like they haven't played with anyone at that level yet, having taken Texas to OT and blowing the game against OSU. Hoping there's no six minute letdown in the second half for this one, though.
  4. Sweet 16, 1994.
  5. a record? Yeah. Here's who they beat: Alabama Arizona Baylor Dayton Delaware Detroit Duke Fairleigh Dickinson Gonzaga Indiana Iowa Kansas LSU La Salle Louisiana-Monroe Marquette Memphis Miami FL Miami-OH North Carolina Northeastern Northern Iowa Oklahoma Rhode Island Robert Morris Siena St. John's St. Peter's Texas Texas A&M UCF Washington Western Carolina Wisconsin-Green Bay So, they're good until a potential Kansas game in the elite eight.
  6. Weird stat: Purdue has 34 NCAA tournament wins now, and has never defeated the same team twice.
  7. As frustrating as most of the game was, I did laugh briefly... http://oi56.tinypic.com/smdcvr.jpg
  8. Speaking of which, did you watch the thunder-heat game? They did one of those 'LISTEN INTO THE HUDDLE' things and Brooks goes "PLAY HARD. PLAY GOOD DEFENSE. DON'T LET YOUR MAN SCORE." Very inspiring stuff. It's innovative. If everybody did what he said, they can't lose!
  9. Think about the positives, folks. The quieter the Illinois folks are in this thread, the better they look. Everybody wins.
  10. Ahh, right. With all the games over the past month, I forgot that one actually happened.
  11. When was the last time the Bulls allowed 100+ and won?
  12. I think that was a record 8 seconds on the bandwagon.
  13. At least his RA/O ratio was less than one today.
  14. The best thing you can say about Silva is that he throws a lot of strikes. Similar to the nice things you can say about batting machines.
  15. Bilas's twitter feed is hilarious this week, though.
  16. Looks like Silva is already in midseason form.
  17. I've always liked the idea that Gus should just be in the studio at the ready when a game is close in the last 5 minutes.
  18. So are the higher seeds. Them's some mad pickin' skills.
  19. Michigan is the first team in NCAA tournament history to win a game without making a free throw.
  20. Or Tennessee was just bad, or just plain quit.
  21. This actually has a decent chance to be Michigan's biggest margin of victory all year.
  22. Apparently Michigan discovered that practically the entire Big Ten schedule is tougher than this game today.
  23. The Bulls are actually #1 in Hollinger's ratings now, and have a greater than 25% chance to win it all. Every week I assume the Bulls have hit their high water mark for those ratings, and they keep doing better.
  24. Someone in our bracket group was 15 of 16 yesterday, and lost their national champion.
  25. CL quarters draw: Spurs-Real Madrid Barca-Shakhtar Donetsk Chelsea-Man U Inter-Schalke
