  1. It depends what your goal is. Michigan needs this more than MSU for building a tournament resume, which will get more Big Ten teams in the tourney. MSU is the better team, and would be a better win for Illinois in the BTT.
  2. Yeah, as bad as Cleveland looks to the rest of the NBA (outside NY), they'd absolutely destroy Ohio State or pick-your-best-college-team.
  3. And Iowa is the 10. And NW-Minnesota is the 8-9 game, but it's still TBD who gets to wear white (which doesn't matter at all).
  4. So really, the only BTT seed clinched at this time is Indiana gets the 11.
  5. We're the 4 if Michigan beats MSU. Ahh, yes, but only if PSU loses. If it's a 4-way tie, the head-to-head is Michigan 4-1, Illinois 3-2, PSU 2-4, MSU 2-4. Either way, Illinois will play the MSU-Michigan winner on Friday, and then likely OSU.
  6. Well, 9-9 in the Big Ten should be enough for a bid, easily. As for the B1G tournament...I think Illinois has clinched the 5 spot. The MSU-Michigan winner is the 4 seed, and Illinois would win any tiebreaker with PSU and MSU due to both being swept by Michigan.
  7. 3 auto bids up for grabs today in the A-Sun, Big South and OVC. Belmont would be the only team among them with even an outside shot at an at-large bid with a loss, but even then it'd be slim to none.
  8. For the first time all year, Hollinger's playoff odds has the Bulls finishing ahead of the Heat in the standings. I imagine a 30-point loss yesterday affects that projection a bit.
  9. For the sake of absurdity, if the Hawks winning streak continued through the end of the season, they'd equal last year's points total.
  10. Bulls magic number is now 6.
  11. Knicks the only NBA team that haven't beaten the Cavs yet. 0-3 so far.
  12. Yeah instead of Concavaf's 4th place team playing Conmebol's 5th place they could draw the team from Africa or wherever. It'll be four teams: CONMEBOL 5th place, CONCACAF 4th place, AFC 5th place and OFC 1st place.
  13. Projected final standings based on current goal differential pythagorean: Vancouver 115 Detroit 108 San Jose 102 Chicago 99 Los Angeles 98 Phoenix 95 Dallas 95 Nashville 94 Calgary 94 Anaheim 92 Minnesota 92 Columbus 90 St. Louis 85 Colorado 77 Edmonton 65
  14. Ugh, one of my pet peeves about the NHL is completely discounting OTLs as losses, like for example people saying the Hawks are 12 games over .500 now. They're 6 over, people. There are only 3 teams 12 games over or better, and those are Vancouver, Philly and Detroit.
  15. Yes they do not these games. we suck ass the refs certainly didn't help but you can't make horford look invincible. These are the sorts of games you lose when you have a psychotic defensive obsessed coach. Don't get me wrong Thibs is really good but you can't win ugly all the time. Now Thibs is psychotic? What the hell? It was just one game.
  16. Yes they do not these games. we suck ass the refs certainly didn't help but you can't make horford look invincible. Do you actually read the words you post? Because that's some kind of crazy.
  17. I'd have included 8 teams, but I couldn't find a good 8th team that was close enough in profile, and I didn't want to spend all afternoon looking. :P
  18. For my money, I'd probably go C, A, B, G, F, E, D. The profiles are surprisingly close, though.
  19. Today's fun activity...the following seven teams are most likely the only ones in the mix for a 1 seed. How would you rank them? Team Record RPI SOS Last 10 Home Road Top25 26-50 51-100 101-200 200+ A 27-2 (13-1) 1 11 9-1 14-0 10-1 3-0 4-2 3-0 13-0 3-0 B 26-3 (12-2) 5 36 8-2 16-0 6-3 3-0 4-3 9-0 5-0 5-0 C 28-2 (15-2) 3 27 8-2 19-0 9-2 4-2 6-0 8-0 6-0 4-0 D 28-2 (13-2) 4 26 8-2 13-1 11-1 0-2 6-0 4-0 13-0 3-0 E 27-2 (12-2) 2 13 9-1 15-1 8-1 0-1 8-1 9-0 6-0 4-0 F 25-5 (14-3) 6 16 8-2 17-0 7-4 4-3 5-1 8-1 4-0 4-0 G 25-4 (13-3) 7 24 7-3 17-2 6-2 8-2 3-1 3-1 7-0 4-0
  20. It's looking more and more like the Bulls will be signing Rasual Butler. Better 3pt shooter than the other options, decent defender, not a long term option.
  21. It's been a long time since the Bulls played a road game against a contender. So long, in fact, that Atlanta is more games over .500 (12) than any road opponent they've played this year at the time of the game. New Orleans was 33-22 at the time of the game, but before that you have to go all the way back to Boston at 14-4, and the LA Lakers at 12-2. If you think about it, here were the road games the Bulls played in their first 17: at OKC, at Boston, at San Antonio, at Dallas, at LA, at Denver, then at Boston again (including other road games in Phoenix, Houston and Sacramento). Since then, the only winning teams they've played on the road were New York, Portland, Utah and New Orleans. Remaining, they have 2 at Atlanta, 2 at Orlando, one at Miami and one at New York.
  22. Thornton reportedly signed with the Warriors.
  23. I wouldn't. The Bulls are sorely in need of a wing player that can spell Deng and either defend really well or shoot 3s really well. Preferably both, of course, but Thornton does neither.
  24. If Illinois could magically retroactively cut their turnovers in half, they'd be like 26-4.
  25. On another note, can we finally be done with hearing about Alabama as an at-large candidate?
