  1. It'll be interesting to see how they handle Belmont, a team that has blitzed everybody (save 1) outside the top 100, but lost every top 100 game.
  2. Ok, but if the only team we miss again is Illinois, I'm done with college basketball. :P
  3. Thus magically transforming him into a LTOGY?
  4. This week begins championship week. To do a mock selection or not to do a mock selection?
  5. 4 1st rounders the next 2 years, potentially. Charlotte's first rounder is lottery protected next year, and gradually gets less protected year by year.
  6. Bulls magic number to clinch the division is now 10. Didn't want to mention that kind of thing until it was 10 or fewer.
  7. Setting up very well for a BYU #1 seed. They likely have earned it, too.
  8. It was all on the back of Garnett and Marbury, for sure, but that was one awful game. The only thing he had in double figures was turnovers. In case you were wondering, this was Jordan's most detrimental game, coming in at #523 overall on Paine's list. Kobe's worst came in at #126. Aside from KG, Melo (#8), LeBron (#14), Ray Allen (#17) and Wade (#19) made the top 20. Bosh's night last night was actually #24. Saddest player, though, was Kenyon Martin, who not only had two of the top 13 detrimental performances, he had them in back-to-back playoff games, games 5 and 6 of the NBA Finals against the Spurs.
  9. There has been a discussion going on Basketball-Reference regarding Chris Bosh's detrimental offensive night, and how even an average player/performance would have won the game for the Heat last night. Then the discussion went to the most detrimental performances of all time. According to Neil Paine, this was the most team detrimental performance of all time. See if you can figure out who it was that torpedoed his team on such a massive scale.
  10. Dwyane Wade makes at least two mistakes on the same play: http://nbaplaybook.com/2011/02/25/poor-help-from-dwyane-wade-hurts-the-heat/
  11. Today's reason for optimism - Sagarin's predictor ratings: 1 - Vancouver Canucks - 4.83 2 - Philadelphia Flyers - 4.56 3 - Chicago Blackhawks - 4.52 4 - Boston Bruins - 4.49 5 - Los Angeles Kings - 4.47 6 - Detroit Red Wings - 4.42 7 - Pittsburgh Penguins - 4.36 8 - San Jose Sharks - 4.26 9 - Nashville Predators - 4.25 10 - Phoenix Coyotes - 4.16 11 - Calgary Flames - 4.14 12 - New York Rangers - 4.14 13 - Minnesota Wild - 4.13 14 - St. Louis Blues - 4.11 15 - Tampa Bay Lightning - 4.08 16 - Columbus Blue Jackets - 4.08 17 - Anaheim Ducks - 4.02 18 - Dallas Stars - 4.02 19 - Washington Capitals - 4.01 20 - Montreal Canadiens - 3.91 21 - Buffalo Sabres - 3.84 22 - Florida Panthers - 3.74 23 - Carolina Hurricanes - 3.72 24 - Atlanta Thrashers - 3.56 25 - New Jersey Devils - 3.54 26 - Colorado Avalanche - 3.5 27 - New York Islanders - 3.39 28 - Edmonton Oilers - 3.37 29 - Toronto Maple Leafs - 3.32 30 - Ottawa Senators - 3.04
  12. Omer Asik was awesome tonight.
  13. The interior defense with Noah and Boozer just isn't there yet. Noah has a ways to adjust yet before he's himself.
  14. Still haven't located the defense yet.
  15. I almost feel bad for Nate Robinson.
  16. The weird thing is, out of all those guys only Shaq and Krstic really play the 5 at all, as Garnett and Davis are 4's. So...they like Krstic better than Perkins?
  17. Anthony Parker. Troy Murphy will get bought out too, rumored to be going to Celtics afterward.
  18. Also, Mayo is staying on the Grizzlies after all.
  19. Looks like the only transaction will be through a signed buyout player or picking up a free agent. Bulls need to add someone to the roster, since they're a man short for now.
  20. It's now confirmed that the Bulls made no trades. Made runs at Lee, Mayo and Anthony Parker, but no deals were agreed upon.
  21. NBA nixed Mayo deal because the teams didn't get it done before deadline. Oops.
  22. Hi, Pot? This is Kettle. Looking pretty black today. Once again a smartass answer from you too. Awesome Wow, this might be the first time someone has referred to bukie as a smartass. Na cause this is the 2nd time hes acted liked a smartass to me today that Ive pointed out. Look I usually like Bukies points and such, but his whole"do you know anything about Asik" comment earlier was him being a smartass plain and simple. Not so much, I just didn't understand how someone could be so far off on assessment of Asik if they actually saw him play this year.
  23. Cleveland and Detroit almost had a trade-buyout thing worked out for Rip, but Rip wouldn't agree to the terms of the buyout. So now for Rip to be bought out, Detroit would basically have to pay two years of Rip's salary all at once. IMO, doubtful.
