  1. Damn, good splitter from Westbrook to Castro. Almost got something out of nothing that inning.
  2. Who are you counting as the 5th, Navarro or Sweeney?
  3. That's just weird and wrong on so many levels, it's like inception for dummies.
  4. I'm still rooting for the "no west coast games" scenario of Min-Det-Stl.
  5. I want to think he's had foot problems since well before free agency. Could be a worse flare up or just not having the tolerance for it as he ages too. Another reason I'm not paid to make decisions, I was very big on Pujols in Free Agency, especially relative to Fielder. Yeah, as much as the Cubs FO got flack for not spending big in 2012 FA, I think they made the right move, in hindsight.
  6. So, if the Bulls improbably win tonight...are the Heat still favorites? Also, if they win tonight and Rose returns for game 3, and the Heat still win the series, is that a worst-case scenario for Rose?
  7. Considering Asik was one of the top 5 centers in the NBA this year, you're getting in way over your head trying to prove an ignorant point.
  8. No, they're not. Don't be stupid.
  9. Oh, he'll get paid. NBA owners continue to be ridiculous with their contract signings, just hoping they can balk their way out of it in the next bargaining agreement.
  10. They don't have Bird rights to him, so any team can just price him beyond what the Bulls can legally afford (the MLE, basically, since the Bulls are up against the hard cap), and they will.
  11. In game 2 I expect LeBron on Nate Robinson in the 4th.
  12. Even in a 9-1 game, 3/4 of Aramis Fan's posts are negative crap.
  13. You know what, I don't think this Teague-Cook back court is going to be enough to win the game.
  14. Hot rumor is that the Nets want to get Jerry Sloan for their next coach. Wouldn't that be fun.
  15. It all depends on how they can manage to do defensively. If they can completely own the boards (as they probably should) and force Miami into low percentage shots, the score will be close by default. The Heat will force the Bulls into bad shots, but Nate always takes bad shots, so it's nothing different than the usual offense.
  16. Coming into today, White Sox OF Dewayne Wise had a career OBP of .264, which is the lowest career OBP in history for any OF with at least 1,000 career plate appearances. Today, though, he's 1-2 with a single (the only hit off Shields), so he may have bumped himself ahead of the next worst OBP of all time, Kenny Williams (.269).
  17. Down side of winning in 7 is they're practically already on their way to Miami for an early Monday evening game.
  18. Early candidate for worst sac bunt of the year: In Colorado, in the 4th inning, leading 3-2, after Matt Moore had just walked pitcher Jeff Francis on 4 pitches to put 2 on with 0 out, Dexter Fowler, who is hitting .303/.410/.606, sac bunted the two runners over. The Rockies failed to score in the inning, and now trail by one. EDIT: And to top it off, Fowler was actually injured on the sac bunt try and is now out of the game.
  19. Who do you bump to make room for Garza when he's ready? If everyone continues to be productive, you can start rotating starters in an out on a near-monthly basis, with the odd man out being the long man when one of the starters doesn't have it that day. Work towards a goal of each pitcher getting 25-28 starts on the year, maybe more for Samardzija if you want to see how many innings he can handle.
  20. David Kahn out as Wolves president.
  21. All Barcelona needs is 7 goals in the next 15 minutes and they're right back in this thing.
  22. Things that stuck out to me from last night's stat sheet: - Michael Roszival led the Hawks with just over 27 minutes of ice time. - Ryan Suter led the Wild with just over 41 minutes of ice time. - Every Hawks player had a positive CORSI last night except Bryan Bickell, led by Keith, Hammer and Hossa with +10. - Every Wild player had a negative CORSI last night except Zenon Konopka(?), "led" by Jared Spurgeon with -13, Ryan Suter with -12, and Zack Parise with -11.
  23. My only concern about the Hawks is that they haven't had to play with a sense of urgency for about two months now. They've continued to win anyway, though, so it's not much of a concern.
  24. A great breakdown of the 1 in 5000 comeback from the Bulls, and how it wasn't much of a Nets choke-job, just great coaching by Thibs and Nate Robinson never missing shots: http://www.theteamrebound.com/2013/04/14-points-in-6-possessions-how-bulls.html
