  1. I'll make it an even 10.
  2. I thought the popular theory was Duke/UNC after Coach K/Williams retire.
  3. Great article on tactics analysis of last night's game, for both Mexico and the US: http://www.americansoccernow.com/articles/escape-from-mexico-city-how-the-u-s-avoided-a-loss
  4. Zero teams have a road win 3 games in. Only Costa Rica and USA have avoided a home draw. Jamaica's basically done if they don't win at least one of the next two (home v MEX,USA).
  5. Because professional clubs wouldn't be willing to take a year off for WCQ, so they get one week every couple months instead.
  6. A - Cabrera B - Pujols, McCutchen C - Posey, Cespedes, Harper D - Adrian Gonzalez, Anthony Rizzo, Justin Upton, Joey Votto, Evan Longoria WC: PM'd
  7. Crushing. I don't know that I'll ever be able to trust reddit posts at face value ever again.
  8. FIFA denied Costa Rica's protest. Result stands.
  9. I'm sure the telegraph will be on the front page of the Cavs site, in comic sans.
  10. Really good recruiting class and plenty of playing time available to give them. Couple of transfers to ease the process somewhat, and Abrams/Egwu/Bertrand/Henry return from the rotation. Biggest challenge will be to see where the scoring comes from early on.
  11. Rough draw for the u20 squad in the World Cup. Spain, France, CAF (non-champion).
  12. @JohnGasaway 3m In 1975 Bill Musselman resigned as Minnesota coach and went to the ABA. Violations were subsequently discovered, Gophers put on probation. ‏@JohnGasaway 2m In 1986 Jim Dutcher resigned as Minnesota coach mid-season amid a rape investigation involving three of his players. @JohnGasaway 1m Dutcher was succeeded by Clem Haskins, who was succeeded by Dan Monson, who was succeeded by Tubby Smith. Minnesota's not very good at this.
  13. The runaway success that was John Groce's first season
  14. Brandon Paul? Paul did have 18 points on 20 shots, yes.
  15. So, I mean, kudos to Tyler Griffey and Nnanna Egwu, the best two players on the floor for the Illini tonight.
  16. Although if you would have told me going in that Illinois was going to get outshot, doubled up on fouls, have more turnovers than Miami, and Paul/Richardson would go a combined 3-20 from 3, I'd have figured Illinois got absolutely blasted.
  17. They had it, and they pissed it away. Clutch shot by Larkin, DJ did nothing offensively all night, Paul had to chuck one last contested fadeaway 3 for the memories.
  18. One might watch that play and wonder why Brandon Paul settles for so many contested fade-away 33 footers.
  19. No FT made for either team at the half.
  20. 10 Sweet 16 spots taken so far: 4 B1G (Indiana, OSU, MSU, Michigan), 3 Big East (Louisville, Marquette, Syracuse), 2 Pac 12 (Arizona, Oregon), and 1 MVC (Wichita State) 12 remaining teams for the 6 spots left: 3 ACC (Duke, Miami, UNC), 2 SEC (Florida, Ole Miss), 2 B1G (Illinois, Minnesota), 1 Big 12 (Kansas), 1 A-10 (LaSalle) 1 MWC (San Diego State), 1 MVC (Creighton) and 1 A-Sun (FGCU).
  21. On the flipside, headline writers everywhere are bummed that they don't get to use their "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" pun.
  22. I'm sure it took Nantz a lot of time to learn the names of the players in Indiana and Louisville, and he'll be damned if they lose and he has to learn 12-15 other names.
  23. From the time OSU went up 13 with 6 minutes to play to the end of the game, DeShaun Thomas touched the ball once, got fouled and made 2 FTs. Every other OSU possession was Aaron Craft either missing shots, turning the ball over, or missing front ends of 1 and 1s.
  24. So glad that a perennial underdog program like Ohio State could finally catch a couple of breaks.
  25. Well, yesterday it made sense since there was only one eastern pod, but today there's Philly as well. Just worked out that 2 of the 3 eastern pods had all the good B1G teams.
