  1. His ability to throw out runners outweighs his inability to keep balls in front of him.
  2. How Bowden is on the team still baffles me. At least bring up someone from Iowa because there has to be other options in the farm system. There isn't. That's the problem. The AAA and AA pitching is a black hole of even worse suckiness. Dolis is about the best shot they've got for the near future unless Vizcaino doesn't pan out as a starter.
  3. He won't stay a postive long. Look at his track record. Slightly better than replacement level reliever? Yeah, about what I expect.
  4. Remember when Trey McNutt was the best pitching prospect the Cubs had two years ago? Yeah, it's that bad.
  5. Bowman is one of only 3 Cub relievers worth a net positive this year. Bizarre rant.
  6. Oh yes, because the come back victories have been so plentiful and the games blown by the bullpen have been so rare. When you predict that the game is over in the 8th inning 162 times a year, you'll probably be right 75% of the time, and you'll be annoying, pointless, and stupid 100% of the time.
  7. Aramis Fan talking about the game in the past tense? Must be the 8th inning.
  8. Out of the many reasons not to sacrifice bunt, that one wasn't readily apparent to me.
  9. So much for the dream of a perfect season for Russell.
  10. Gameday's spot on pitch 5 makes the ump look terrible.
  11. Maybe they'll let Russell bat, then, so he can pitch to the best hitters on the Cards, who are all coming up next.
  12. Are the Cubs double switching, or wasting Russell for one batter?
  13. So the ACC decided that Virginia Tech and Clemson were unworthy of the challenge this year.
  14. I suppose in most cases I'd trade an out for a run given the opportunity, though.
  15. I still hate the term "productive out", since outs are the most precious thing in baseball, but hey, at least the runner's at 3rd.
  16. Damn, good splitter from Westbrook to Castro. Almost got something out of nothing that inning.
  17. Who are you counting as the 5th, Navarro or Sweeney?
  18. That's just weird and wrong on so many levels, it's like inception for dummies.
  19. I'm still rooting for the "no west coast games" scenario of Min-Det-Stl.
  20. I want to think he's had foot problems since well before free agency. Could be a worse flare up or just not having the tolerance for it as he ages too. Another reason I'm not paid to make decisions, I was very big on Pujols in Free Agency, especially relative to Fielder. Yeah, as much as the Cubs FO got flack for not spending big in 2012 FA, I think they made the right move, in hindsight.
  21. So, if the Bulls improbably win tonight...are the Heat still favorites? Also, if they win tonight and Rose returns for game 3, and the Heat still win the series, is that a worst-case scenario for Rose?
  22. Considering Asik was one of the top 5 centers in the NBA this year, you're getting in way over your head trying to prove an ignorant point.
  23. No, they're not. Don't be stupid.
  24. Oh, he'll get paid. NBA owners continue to be ridiculous with their contract signings, just hoping they can balk their way out of it in the next bargaining agreement.
  25. They don't have Bird rights to him, so any team can just price him beyond what the Bulls can legally afford (the MLE, basically, since the Bulls are up against the hard cap), and they will.
