  1. I assume all Daytona games are rainouts unless explicitly told otherwise.
  2. Yes, friends, it's still National Jump to Conclusions week all week here in the game threads.

    Week #1

Correct, and no daily switches for RPs.
  4. National Jump To Conclusions week also counts for things you might have expected. Like Marmol, after he spent the last 3 months of last year quite effective.
  5. Bro, manzier, or statue? Statuesque, even.
  6. Soriano did not stink last year, so if he stinks now, it's not "still." When you look at his contract he did. He's a tremendous bust. Soriano did force Hendry at gunpoint to sign him to the deal, so I guess you have a point. Soriano was worth $16.4M last year, barely underperforming his salary. He does have a tremendous bust, though.
  7. And yet Pirate pitchers threw 140 pitches. Can't force balls to be out of the zone.
  8. That is one way to not let McCutchen beat you.
  9. Valbuena says [expletive] you and your deep counts.
  10. I do so love National Jump to Conclusions week, where every pitch and every AB is amplified about 10x because of the volatile overall numbers early on.
  11. Samardzija gave up zero fly balls. Two line drives to the OF were it.
  12. Well, at least Lillibridge is seeing more than 3 pitches per at bat.
  13. Cubs OF seemed surprised that a ball was hit in their direction.
  14. Valbuena doing his best to make sure at least the lineup turns over this half inning to get a better scoring chance in the 7th.
  15. Yep, if I remember correctly, that incident more than anything else was what led to Alford being run out of town.
  16. Hopefully the lesson learned here is to get runners on more often, as even the best hitter in the league is only putting the ball safely into play once every three chances. For a bottom of the order hitter, it's more like one in five.
  17. @jonahkeri 1m If I know my baseball history, Bryce Harper will hit another HR today, get a goofy nickname...then become Japan's home run champ in 2 years.
  18. First inning, opening day....worked out the jitters. Is jitters some kind of pet name for Lillibridge?
  19. I would not take a prospect package for Castro. Any prospect package, I mean. There are just 9 players that project to more WAR than Castro over the next 5 years. Those would be the only players I'd trade Castro for. And even then, I'd balk at the pitchers unless the other team added prospects to the deal. Those players: Evan Longoria, Matt Kemp, Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw, Troy Tulowitzki, Justin Verlander, Bryce Harper, Giancarlo Stanton and Andrew McCutchen.
  20. Yeah, that 2001 tournament game was the worst game to watch, ever. 36 fouls just on Illinois. Almost 60 fouls for the game. EDIT: More on that game... Arizona: 40 FGA, 56 FTA Illinois had 6(!) players foul out. Robert Archibald fouled out in 24 minutes, but led all scorers with 25 points.
  21. ibby was a scholarship filler, wouldn't have been part of the rotation in a million years. Right, so now that he's transferring, maybe they can go more than 7 deep next year, unlike this year.
  22. Here's hoping Illinois can go more than 7 deep next year.
  23. Actually, I'm not going to have the time to manage another league, so I'll drop. Leaves one spot open.
  24. And here I thought Cynosure got banned years ago.
