Michael Young off the bereavement list, back into my lineup in place of Yonder Alonso, who apparently can't hold a bat but won't go to the DL.
-
Worst. Hat. Ever.
-
Finally saw video of the game yesterday, and man, the German keeper looked bad on several occasions. That first goal was gorgeous, though.
-
I took Reddick off the DL and dropped Konerko, because even when Konerko was healthy, he didn't look healthy.
-
Sure, there needs to be some kind of penalty for not keeping your roster legal.
-
That may have been the first time all series that the Kings developed a good offensive play without the aid of a weird bounce.

So much for that. Illinois gives up 4 in the 9th and trails 6-3 in the bottom of the 9th. -

Illinois has basically 3 good hitters and a good freshman pitcher in Duschene. They're now 3 outs away from forcing Vandy to beat them again to win the regional (they'd have needed to hold on against Vandy yesterday to have a real shot at actually winning the regional, but they aren't in Vandy's league at this point). -
And just like that, Haas broke back and they're on serve again in the 5th.
-
And now Isner is two holds away from winning, up 4-2 in the 5th.
-
Third round of the French Open, #12 Tommy Haas v #19 John Isner, Isner has now fought off 13 match points and has forced a 5th set after being down 2-0.
-
That'll do, Garza. That'll do.

Surprised Illinois even made the tournament, let alone landed a 3 seed, and now they're up on Georgia Tech 4-0 in the 6th. -
Cub pitchers are 1 RBI shy of the major league record for RBI in a month. They're at 19, and the 1940 Tigers had 20 pitcher RBI.
-
Cubs now 5-1 against the AL, outscoring them 41-14.
-
Len and JD are also on TV.
-
Wood now hitting .304 with 2 HRs and 7 RBI.
-
Michael Young is on bereavement leave for a week, so I subbed him out for Betancourt.
-
I'd love nothing more than Jozy netting a brace tonight and nobody getting hurt.
-
What's their OPS differential now? It was already absurd before the last two games.
-
No?
-
3 to 1 strike-to-ball ratio for Marmol that inning, only one hard hit ball.
-
Yeah, since then he's only had 9 extra base hits...
-
Castro HR would certainly top this one off.
-
Not a bad day at the plate for Navarro.
