  1. What do you expect out of a guy averaging less than an assist a game? I'd heard he wasn't much of a passer, but this is the first time I've made a concerted effort to see it live. That team has such a bizarre dynamic. And they're probably the best the Pac 12 has.
  2. I watched about 5 minutes of the UCLA-Washington game, during which Shabazz Muhammad tried to strip his own man of the ball and hasn't passed it once.
  3. They won't play Nebraska on Thursday, they're behind Purdue in the standings. This sets up Illinois to play Nebraska regardless of their result tomorrow now. I hope you have that right, but on several Illinois boards they have it differently. Actually, Purdue would win the 3 way tiebreaker since they won the only meeting with Minnesota. EDIT: Which would put Illinois and Minnesota in the 8-9 game.
  4. Miami apparently not up for winning the ACC this year.
  5. They won't play Nebraska on Thursday, they're behind Purdue in the standings. This sets up Illinois to play Nebraska regardless of their result tomorrow now.
  6. Creighton not messing around today either. Just Doug McDermott has outscored Indiana State, and he doesn't even have half Creighton's points.
  7. Florida Gulf Coast beat the odds and won the Atlantic Sun bid. Other than today, their best win was over Miami (yes, that one).
  8. Wait until the minor league draft is over.
  9. Loyola Marymount, which had won all of 1 game this calendar year, has now won 3 games in the WCC Tourney and gets to play Gonzaga tonight. The other WCC quarter was also an upset, so St. Mary's and Gonzaga each have a better than 90% chance of making the finals in the WCC. Princeton lost its first of 3 final road games, while Harvard beat Columbia at home, so the Ivy standings are basically tied though Princeton has an additional game to play. Creighton vs Indiana State (Creighton 81%) and Wichita State vs Illinois State (Wichita State 60%) are the MVC semifinals today. Two auto bids are decided today: #1 Belmont vs #3 Murray State (Belmont 86%) in the OVC finals. #1 Mercer vs #2 Florida Gulf Coast (Mercer 69%) in the A-Sun finals. Three more conference tourneys start today: -- America East (KP #56 Stony Brook is a 62.0% favorite) -- CAA (KP #170 Northeastern is a 24.5% favorite...yeesh, what happened to the CAA this year? They're going to get a 16 seed) -- Summit (KP #71 North Dakota State is a 49.6% favorite despite being the 3 seed)
  10. It is as if you read absolutely nothing in the thread.
  11. Only one decent conference tourney upset yesterday, as High Point, the #1 seed for their division in the Big South, lost in the quarters. That just makes Charleston Southern that much more likely to win the conference tournament (and still end up as a 16 seed). Three more conferences start tourneys today: -- MAAC (KP #100 Iona is a 21.8% favorite, despite being the 4 seed. Really, it's a free for all in this one) -- Southern (KP #63 Davidson is a 67.8% favorite) -- Sun Belt (KP #28 Middle Tennessee is a 75.6% favorite) Of these, the only potential bid thief is Middle Tennessee, who destroyed their conference and has no really bad losses to speak of (or really good wins, aside from Ole Miss).
  12. And just when I was starting to think he'd fall to 30.
  13. Owen Whitt was a less obscure college player than Ryan Swope.
  14. Per Wiki past cover athletes have included Jared Zabransky, Owen Whitt, and Brian Johnson. Not being good pros is not the same as not being recognizable. Zabransky especially. Brian Johnson wasn't immediately memorable, but some brief research shows he was the Sugar Bowl MVP of an undefeated Utah team in 2008, a worthy choice. EDIT: Owen Whitt isn't a real person. Nice try, though.
  15. The most obscure athlete on the cover of NCAA football was probably Danny Wuerffel, the first year the cover athlete got chosen. And he was still a well known college player.
  16. Just because you may be ignorant for SEC football that doesn't mean that he isn't a nobody.
  17. And Netherlands beats Cuba And Rizzos double gives Italy a win over Mexico. And Japan had to erase a 9th inning deficit to beat Chinese Taipei, or that would have been some heated elimination game tomorrow.
  18. Hey, so far I've had the #3 pick in each draft and gotten my #1 choice in each. And until Reyes and Zunino collide in spring training this week which results in career ending injuries for both, I'm pretty happy about it.
  19. Signability concerns... ;) EDIT: Someone should mention to Brian that it's his pick.
  20. I considered Russell, but figured Zunino was less of a gamble.
  21. Anyone from the 2012 draft is fair game, and you can see BA's top 100 list for free (but no details).
  22. Oh, I'm not saying there isn't value past the top 7, just that there's an easy top 7, and then you really have to look hard to find quality (or luck out).
  23. Just here.
  24. I draft seventh and there's no chance the other of my top three makes it past you. I felt like the 2012 draft was a 7 player draft, and one (Appel) didn't sign, so with Soler there should be at least one draft worthy player making it to you.
  25. minnesotacubsfan took over Karen's team, right? So he'd be next.
